How Telltale's Wolf Among Us will offer more choice than Walking Dead

How Telltale's Wolf Among Us will offer more choice than Walking Dead

Telltale's The Walking Dead received a lot of critical praise for its narrative and gut-wrenching choices, but some fans lamented that multiple playthroughs exposed how little impact they made on the story. Its next comic-turned-game A Wolf Among Us aims to solve that concern by having entire chunks of game that are only available if you make a particular choice.

Telltale's The Wolf Among Us revealed in first screenshots

Telltale had a good crack at a comic book art style in The Walking Dead but oh my, it looks even better in The Wolf Among Us. Telltale has dropped the first screens from its episodic adventure game prequel to Bill Willingham's fabulous comic Fables, showing the grimy New York setting, along with details on how it continues to delight in dropping difficult decisions.

Telltale Games' Poker Night 2 review: Ace in the Hole

Telltale Games' Poker Night 2 review: Ace in the Hole

I'll be honest, I completely expected Poker Night 2 to simply be a rehash of 2010's Poker Night at the Inventory--and for the most part, it is. However, Telltale's solo poker experience adds a number of new features that definitely makes this new installment a more worthwhile effort than the first, albeit with some persistent issues keep it from hitting the jackpot.

Poker Night 2 offers TF2 & Borderlands 2 items

Telltale's original Poker Night at the Inventory rewarded good play with shiny unlockables for Valve's Team Fortress 2, and Poker Night 2 is really upping the ante. With characters from Portal, The Evil Dead, Sam & Max, Venture Bros. and more, the sequel will rifle through their possessions to offer Borderlands 2 heads and skins on all platforms, as well as other platform-specific unlocks.

Now, it appears that Activision has plans for the series since the rights have since reverted back to the publisher.

Walking Dead season two targeting fall 2013

Update: Telltale issues an update to Game Informer: "The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of 'this' year (2013), and not ‘next’ year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale’s series."

Original Story: The Walking Dead won our Game of the Year and left us eager for more, but the waiting may be longer than anticipated. Telltale Games co-founder and CEO Dan Connors says the studio is targeting the latter part of 2014.

Fresh from the heaping pile of accolades that The Walking Dead received in Game of the Year lists that stretched across all corners of the industry, one hopes that developer Telltale Games isn't taking its success for granted. At last week's DICE summit in Las Vegas, Telltale co-founder and CEO Dan Connors revealed a bit more about his company's plans for another season of episodic zombie avoidance and drama, and shared some more info about the upcoming Fables-based project. 2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead

2012 Game of the Year: The Walking Dead

Telltale's The Walking Dead takes the dystopian world of the original comic books, and turns it into an active experience--evoking the kind of emotion that can only be possible through games.

Serving as a prequel to the ongoing comic book series from Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead's story begins with a convict named Lee. What he is beyond that opening scene is entirely up to the player. He can be a guy caught in an unfortunate circumstance, a brave leader, an unrepentant jerk, or even a silent protagonist. He's a conduit of player choice.
