You'll never guess what, right. Nintendo is making a new Super Mario game and a new Mario Kart game. Cross my heart! I can't give you any real useful details about either, okay, but I swear it's true, Nintendo really is making more games in those long, long, long-running series. May Queen Elizabeth herself strike me down if one word of a lie has crossed my lips.

Nintendo's historic first foray into downloadable content begins in just two days: October 4th. On that day, Nintendo will release three DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros 2. Each pack contains three new courses to play in Coin Rush mode, and each will cost $2.50.
Additional packs will arrive at the end of October and at the end of November.

The first such game is New Super Mario Bros 2 for the 3DS, due in August, and Nintendo announced today that it will offer a little extra Club Nintendo perk if you download the digital copy.

Nintendo fans, why do you have to be so hard to please all the time? Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime feels the company did quite a bit to sate fans this year, but they just keep demanding more. He says he "loves" this habit of the gaming community, but at the same time it "troubles [him] tremendously."

When Nintendo said New Super Mario Bros 2 was all about the money, they weren't kidding. Nintendo has announced that New Super Mario Bros 2 will be the first game in the company's history to offer for-pay DLC after launch. Additional "Coin Rush" stages will be developed after the game comes out.
Although this may signal a change in Nintendo's strategy, NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime was quick to point out that NSMB2 will be "full featured," and that no content is being removed for the purposes of being made into DLC.
