It won't be much longer until a few lucky gamers will get a chance to try out an early version of the "Steam Box"--Valve's foray into TV-connected hardware. According to Valve head Gabe Newell, the company plans on "giving out some prototypes to customers to get their reactions in the next three to four months."
Assuming Valve Time doesn't strike, of course.

The previously PlayStation 3-only Retro/Grade is coming to PC on March 20. The game treats your spaceship's shots like musical notes as time moves backwards, making you "un-fire" the shots to the music to avoid ripping apart space-time. In other words, it's a clever rhythm gaming device.

Arma 3 is set to launch its Alpha test on March 5 for those who pre-ordered the game. You'll be able to play four single-player showcase missions, two multiplayer scenarios, and tinker with the scenario editor and modding.

Having already made its way to the PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and PC, indie developer Vblank Entertainment's Retro City Rampage is poised to release for Nintendo's WiiWare service on February 28. This means the game will also be playable on Wii U through the Wii eShop in Wii Mode. Additionally, a prototype version of the game, called ROM City Rampage (which is playable in the in-game arcade) will be included in this release. The additional content will also hit the PC Steam port of the game via a free, automatic update.

Arma 3 will be exclusive to Steam, according to project lead Joris-Jan van't Land. He says that the goal as set by the Bohemia Interactive CEO is to release the game in 2013, and feels that "without going Steam-exclusive, we would not be able to release Arma 3 in 2013."

After a lengthy beta period, Valve has finally launched Steam for Linux officially. The client can be downloaded here. To coincide with the official launch of the service, all Linux games sold through Steam have been discounted, including Serious Sam 3: BFE, World of Goo, FTL, Trine 2, Bastion, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and more. Who knew Linux had so many games?

The long-awaited tool kit for Rage is coming today, id Software has announced. The whopping 35 GB of mod kit includes idStudio, tutorials, and a variety of game maps and assets to get you started making your own content for the 2011 title.
