Skullgirls review

Skullgirls review

Skullgirls in many ways pays homage to classic 2D fighters. Its art style and overall presentation show reverence for the heyday when numerous titles competed for the fighting game crown. Skullgirls arrive on PS3 and Xbox 360 next week

Revenge Labs' gorgeous hand-drawn 2D fighting game has just been dated. Skullgirls will be available on the PlayStation Store on April 10th, and Xbox Live Arcade on April 11th for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).

For the uninitiated, Skullgirls promises "the most frames of animation per character of any fighting game." And although a downloadable game, it promises the standard features of a retail fighting game, such as online multiplayer, story modes, and training modes.

Reverge attributes the delay, in part, to its "gameplay first development approach," and asserts that it'll be using the extra time to polish up the game.
