Indie fighting game Skullgirls is heading to PC after all. Autumn Games and Reverge Labs announced today that it will hit PC via various digital distribution services later this year, complete with a few enhancements.

Skullgirls review

Skullgirls in many ways pays homage to classic 2D fighters. Its art style and overall presentation show reverence for the heyday when numerous titles competed for the fighting game crown. Likewise, its fighting mechanics often borrow from the heroes of the genre. Skullgirls due in 'early 2012'

Reverge Labs' upcoming 2D fighter, Skullgirls, won't release in 2011, as expected. The developer is now citing a release "early in the first quarter of 2012." Reverge attributes the delay, in part, to its "gameplay first development approach," and asserts that it'll be using the extra time to polish up the game.
