Hugely troubled Scottish developer Realtime Worlds has announced that its cops vs. robbers MMO APB is shutting down, less than three months after it launched.
"Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running, APB is coming to a close," community officer Ben Bateman wrote on the official APB site, urging that "The servers are still up, so join the party and say goodbye!" Read more »

Project: MyWorld, Realtime Worlds' "3D social gaming experience," has been bought by an anonymous US company, Develop reports.
The MyWorld team was laid off as the developer also behind Crackdown and APB attempted to stave off bankruptcy but the company still entered administration in August. When business rescue firm Begbies Traynor stepped in, a portion of the team was re-hired to continue development as a number had expressed interest in buying the project. Read more »
