Joining the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DSi, the PlayStation 3 is the latest game console to integrate Facebook, as Sony has confirmed that the system's next firmware update--v3.10, due "soon"--will add support for the social networking site.

At this point, linking one's PlayStation Network and Facebook account allows three kinds of automatic Facebook updates--Trophies, PlayStation Store Purchases, Game Events--that can be toggled on or off. Addressing complaints that latest PlayStation 3 firmware update (v3.00) caused some to experience freezing issues while playing Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Sony has released an optional firmware update (v3.01) meant to alleviate the problem.

"This will fix the issues that some users have experienced with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," Sony's Eric Lempel wrote on the PlayStation.Blog. The anticipated sequel to the PlayStation 3 exclusive recently went gold and is due in North America October 13.
