The PlayStation store got a Marvellous update this week, as Marvel Comics' superheroes are starring in two of the new arrivals--beat 'em up X-Men Arcade and flip 'em up Marvel Pinball. Now you see that the capitalised "Marvellous" was in fact a pun.
Sony's weekly refresh of the PlayStation Store has arrived, bringing the wacky beat 'em up Kung-Fu Live!, which turns you into the star through the PlayStation Eye. Also in yesterday's update were Qlione Evolve and the eventual PS3 release of Team17's retro top-down shooter Alien Breed 2: Assault, over two months after it hit PC and Xbox 360.
A royal two packs of tracks from English rock legends Queen will hit Rock Band 3 as downloadable content next week, developer Harmonix announced today.
The 'Queen Extravangza' pack will offers Rock Band 3 versions of two Queen songs from LEGO Rock Band as all as "some deeper cuts," while the other DLC pack contains RB3 enhanced versions of tracks previously released for other Rock Band titles. Read more »
The full season of Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse will be given to PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony has revealed in the Plus release schedule for the next fortnight.
Tuesday's PlayStation Store update brought with it a horde of undead and a one wacky rodent. Developer Housemarque's shoot-em-up Dead Nation is now available, priced at $14.99 (or $11.99 for PlayStation Plus Members). The Move-enabled puzzle title, Funky Lab Rat from developer Hydravision is also available, at a cost of $9.99 for all PSN users.
PlayStation Plus members can grab the PSone classic Twisted Metal 2 and the not-so-classic Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation for 50% this month, along with a few other specialty priced items. The only available free game for Plus users this month is the PS Mini, Vector TD. Read more »
The PlayStation Network Store has added content from BBC America, including the much-loved, automobile-focused Top Gear... oh, wait, no it's the US version. It might be good, but I'm sure people would prefer the UK version.
In any case, the first episode of Top Gear USA is now available for free on the PlayStation Store, which Sony believes offers " great segue to... Gran Turismo 5." Read more »
This week's PlayStation Store Update is heavy on the discounted items, which shouldn't surprise you since some of those deals were revealed earlier this week. A number of other games have also dropped in price.
Atlus is permanently slashing prices on a select number of its titles, including standouts like Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days for $19.99 and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? for $9.99. Other than the previously announced "Stock Up For Winter Sale," a number of other PlayStation Minis and PSN titles are on sale, including Gold Fever for $2.99 and Bomberman Ultra for $4.99. If you're got the Xbox 360 version of Def Jam Rapstar, get ready to enter the 36 chambers with some new DLC featuring songs from the Wu-Tang Clan and its members. Two freestyle beats will also be available from 9th Wonder and DJ Premier.

Tuesday's PlayStation Store update was an all-out Kratos love-fest. Alongside the new PSP-exclusive Kratos title, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, the store now offers the God of War Collection for sale. PSN+ users can download each game in the collection for $14.99, while Non-PSN+ users can purchase the complete package for $29.99. When purchased separately, each game includes a special bonus Kratos "skin" for God of War 3.
The store also added a handful of new, premium skins for Kratos' latest PS3 adventure--including the bonus skins available to PSN+ users--for $0.99 each or in a bundle for $2.99. There is also the Challenge of Exile Arena available, for those who have completed God of War 3 and need something new to beat into a bloody pulp. Read more »
Joining the already released tracks from The Doors will be "Subdivisions" from Rush's 1982 Signals album. As with all Harmonix content, it will immediately support Pro Drums. It also happens to have an awesome keyboard part for the new peripheral. For an additional $1, you'll be able to grab a Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade.
At BlizzCon 2010, Blizzard announced that at least part of the player-versus-player experience in Diablo III will take place in a team arena. I got a chance to play a three versus three match for about forty-five minutes.
Only three of the five classes were playable in PvP, but they were sufficiently powered-up with numerous skills. I tried all three and while I think I had the most success with the Wizard, the Barbarian and Witch Doctor both had effective abilities and combat roles. Read more »
