Telltale's Walking Dead series coming to Vita
The original headline for this story was "The Walking Dead shambling onto Vita." But then, we didn't want you to think it was Activision's game.

Terraria surfaces on Xbox 360 and PS3 next week
The console editions of delightful downloadable dig 'em up Terraria will launch next week, publisher 505 Games announced today. "Oh, pssh, sure, a digging game, like we're not awash with Minecraft clones already" you scoff, person I imagined for rhetorical effect. Hold your tongue! The 2D Terraria, which set PC gamers swooning in 2011, is a far more action-y take on making holes in the ground, with fine weapons to craft and honking great bosses to kill.

If you fancy yourself something of a rootin', tootin', whip-crackin', quick-drawin', hard-ridin', sassin', sarsaparilla-sippin', wild-westin', justice-evadin'... sorry, where am I? Payday 2 preview: planning the perfect heist
"Imagine the perfect robbery: you know the blueprints inside out, when the guards go for their coffee breaks, and exactly how to get into the safe. Everything goes without a hitch, and by the time the safe is found, you're laughing. Not a shot fired. Payday: The Heist doesn't work like that."
Eurogamer's review of the original Payday is an apt summary of what Payday could have been. That's not to say that Overkill's heist game was bad--far from it. But it lacked the brains to match the brute force of the game's cooperative shooting.
Enter Payday 2. Overkill, now owned by Starbreeze, has been given a second chance at making the Payday game they've always wanted to, offering players the chance to make the perfect score.
Sound Shapes expands with six free albums, two paid cars
Queasy Games' music-platformer Sound Shapes is expanding quite a bit today. Two updates--one free and one paid--will introduce new albums and new gameplay elements into the PS Vita/PS3 cross-play game.
First up, a free title update will add "The Community Milkcrate" to the game. The Milkcrate adds six albums and 35 levels in the game, all hand-picked from the community. Each will come enhanced with liner notes and "interesting things to check out," like a director's commentary. These levels will become "baked" into the game, meaning you won't have to go out of your way to find them.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon rated
We really liked Far Cry 3. And apparently, so did nearly 5 million of you. With the open world shooter being positioned as one of Ubisoft's "major pillars," the company is quickly working on a follow-up.
The unannounced Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has been discovered on the Brazilian ratings site, and is set to arrive on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 like the original game. In addition, possible XBLA artwork has been discovered.
Rainbow Moon getting sequel, Rainbow Skies
The hardcore tactical RPG Rainbow Moon will be getting a sequel in 2014. "Rainbow Skies" is coming from SideQuest Studios, the developer behind the original game from last year. The game is in the early development stages -- so early, in fact, that it's seeking freelancers to fill in some gaps.
BIT.TRIP Runner2 coming to Vita this summer
Oh look, another indie game is coming to Vita. Gaijin Games' excellent 2D running game will be leaping onto Sony's handheld later this year.
Although BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien will be available on PS3 via PSN on March 5th, the Vita version won't be available until this summer. Also, because the game has two different publishers on the two Sony platforms, cross-buy will not be supported. Sorry!
BIT.TRIP Runner2 review: moving forward
The BIT.TRIP series, from indie developer Gaijin Games, is fondly remembered for bringing a retro aesthetic and nostalgic gameplay style to modern-day players. The series' conclusion looked to be the last players would see of its hero, Commander Video, but you can't keep a good mascot down. Commander Video is back, surprisingly leaving behind the series' hallmark visual style. This change turns out to be for the best, as BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien pushes the series forward, while retaining the mechanics that made the original BIT.TRIP Runner so much fun.
The basic idea for Runner2 is the same as its predecessor. Commander Video treks across 2D courses in an autorunner setting. Players must avoid obstacles by jumping, sliding, and kicking their way through, often to the beat of the background music, until they reach the end goal. Hitting an obstacle takes players back to the previous checkpoint for them to start again, with no lives system in place. It's as simple to pick up and play as the first game, though this is where the similarities end.
Thomas Was Alone coming to PlayStation 3 and Vita
Just yesterday, Retro City Rampage creator Brian Provinciano took to Twitter to encourage indie development on the PlayStation Network. One day later, Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell has announced a PlayStation 3 and Vita port of his indie darling.
