Mount & Blade: Warband saddling up Napoleonic Wars DLC

The Mount & Blade gang at Taleworlds are elevating another mod, this time turning fan-made mod Mount & Musket: Battalion into the paid expansion 'Napoleonic Wars' for M&B Warband. The multiplayer-only DLC drags the warfare sim into the real world during Napoleon's conquest of Europe, with over 220 unique units including engineers, artillery and musicians.

Defenders of Ardania hits XBLA, PC next week

[Update - 04:34] Several errors have been corrected.

Three months after the iPad debut of multiplayer tower defense Defenders of Ardania, the PC and Xbox Live Arcade editions are limbering up to launch on March 14. While it cost $4.99 on iPad, the spin-off of the Majesty series will run you 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) on XBLA and presumably the same on PC.

Magicka studio to unveil multiplayer combat game at GDC

Paradox Interactive announced its line-up for the Game Developers Conference in March, and among the games listed is a new multiplayer combat game from Arrowhead Game Studios. The project from the Magicka team is code-named Project JFK, but is otherwise being kept mostly under wraps for the time being.

Origin signs up 11 more publishers

Origin is now getting serious about being seen as a bona fide digital distribution platform, rather than a vanity project, as Electronic Arts today announced it has signed up another eleven publishers. Over "the coming months," Origin will add PC games from CD Projekt RED, 1C Company, Paradox Interactive and more, starting today with MMORPG Rift from Trion Worlds.

Magicka 'The Stars Are Left' DLC announced

Eldritch horrors from beyond the stars are to invade the cheery world of Magicka in 'The Stars Are Left,' a downloadable content campaign inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, announced today by publisher Paradox.

The multi-level adventure will bring seven Lovecraftian enemies to smash, two new bosses to conquer, extra spells to zap them all with, two challenge maps, and new items and robes to murder your co-op partners over. "Also, we make fun of Minecraft this time," Paradox notes.
