Origin client 9.0 revamps UI

The Origin client was in a sorry state when EA relaunched its digital distribution platform, but it has improved slowly. Thirteen months later, version 9.0 of the client is coming, and what can we expect from this revision? User interface changes, mostly.

EA to go 100% digital, calls NPD 'irrelevant'

EA Games president Frank Gibeau says the company intends to push into full digital distribution, and criticizes the NPD tracking data for being "irrelevant," since it doesn't give a full view of the market.

Origin offers free 90-day distribution for crowd-funded games

Mass Effect 3 PC requires Origin, unavailable on Steam

Just in case you were wondering, Electronic Arts and Steam haven't made up yet. Mass Effect 3 is an EA game, and therefore will require Origin on PC, and will not be available for sale on Steam.

Origin third-party support begins with Saints Row, Batman
