Microsoft's Xbox One presentation lasted just under an hour, and a significant chunk of that time was spent on entertainment, including a video highlighting its partnership with the NFL. So why so much time devoted to football? Well, if you had committed to a multimillion dollar contract, you'd probably want to show it off too.

DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket is coming back to PS3, just in time for the start of this year's season. And like last year, PS3 will be the only game console to offer Sunday Ticket (sorry Xbox owners). The app will be available to download on September 4th.
Sunday Ticket offers live streaming of out-of-market NFL Sunday Ticket games, in addition to access to player information, scores, standings, and full season schedules. The app also provides access to the Red Zone channel, which highlights scoring plays of each game.

A U.S. District Court judge in California has cleared the way today for a class-action suit by former NFL players to continue over the objections of Madden NFL franchise publisher Electronic Arts. The suit represents more than 6,000 retired players, including Tony Davis, Vince Ferragamo and Billy Joe DuPree.

While the games press is focused squarely on Europe, SCEA took some time to announce a megaton for Americans. Sony has partnered with DirecTV to bring its NFL Sunday Ticket subscription service to the PS3. Best of all, the service will be available even for those that don't currently have access to DirecTV. That means PS3 owners will be able to watch every "out-of-market" Sunday game.
