In a move that emphasizes Hollywood's creative bankruptcy, New Line Cinema has seen fit to option the film rights to Rampage, the monster-smashing arcade hit from Midway Games. Fans of the 1980's classic will no doubt remember its deep and compelling narrative, richly defined characters, and the touching journey of self-discovery each giant beast experienced. Granted, that journey was mostly comprised of punching buildings and eating people.

The Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series may be turning into a big screen movie. New Line Cinemas is attempting to produce a new film from the same creative team, and release it in 2013.
"The new game and the online shorts prompted us to consider a reboot of a brand we hadn’t been actively thinking about," New Line president Tony Emmerich said said. Emmerich is hoping to best the success of the previous two Mortal Kombat films, which he says "haven't aged well."
