Open-world zombie apocalypse survive 'em up State of Decay will launch in June on Xbox Live Arcade, developer Undead Labs has announced. A PC release will follow later. The studio established by ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain also lurched forward with a new trailer clutched in its outstretched arms, showing off snippets of life after undeath.

An updated version of the classic strategy game Age of Empires 2 is coming to Steam on March 9, and will include the Conquerors expansion pack. Steam is already offering a 10 percent discount on the game until launch.

Microsoft has opened a shiny new studio in the Canadian city of Vancouver to work on its "next big entertainment franchise." What that'll be, well, that's a mystery for now, but Black Tusk Studios has declared its existence to the world and is staffing up.

With Halo 4 arriving next week, Microsoft is cramming trailers and titbits into the gaping maws of hungry fans awaiting the most expensive game it's ever made. Someone's been sneaking snacks, though, as a trailer for the co-op Spartan Ops mode has appeared on the Internet, seemingly leaked out early.

Halo 4 is the most expensive game Microsoft's ever made, which isn't really surprising considering the surrounding marketing includes a feature-length live-action webseries with special effects up the wazoo. You can see more of the fruits of that big spending today, as fourth episode of Forward Unto Dawn is out now, introducing a real-life version of everyone's favourite chef, Petty Officer John-117.

Oh, you may enjoy playing those Halo video games, running around and shooting people over the Internet, but you don't truly appreciate Halo unless you've read the novels and comics, bought the dolls, and watched the anime and, now, live-action series. Microsoft released the twenty-minute first episode of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn this morning, with more of the universe-building any true fan craves.

"The world doesn't need more dragons," Undead Labs boldly declared back in 2009 when it announced an open-world zombie sandbox codenamed 'Class3.' Even then, it seemed a little short-sighted. One zombie craze later, the studio founded by Blizzard veteran and ArenaNet co-founder Jeff Strain is showing off the rotting fruits of their labour, now named State of Decay and coming to PC and Xbox 360.

Shank developer Klei Entertainment's love of side-scrolling stabbing surfaces again in its new game, but with a little more subtlety. Ninja sneaking and stabbing sim Mark of the Ninja, will be released via Xbox Live Arcade on September 7, the indie announced yesterday.
