Thor and Okami's Amaterasu getting ready to battle in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Although Capcom just revealed four new characters for its upcoming crossover fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, Marvel apparently wanted to join the announcement party as the company quietly (and accidentally) revealed two more members of the roster earlier today.

On the Marvel.com screenshot gallery for the game, images featuring The Mighty Thor and Okami's Amaterasu were uploaded. Unfortunately for the MvC3 marketing team, neither character has been confirmed for the upcoming title. Read more »

More Duke Nukem Forever Footage Surfaces via Unofficial Fan-Made Video

Though the fate of Duke Nukem Forever is contingent upon legal matters that aren't expected to go to trial for at least another year, another fan-made compilation of leaked gameplay footage has been unearthed by the various denizens of the internet.

Initially uploaded to YouTube in December 2009, the unofficial montage went largely ignored until April Fools Day 2010--the day the legendary shooter was once scheduled to go gold--when some tried to pass the video off as a 3D Realms-sanctioned update. It's not. What you see below consists of various snippets of leaked gameplay footage, some of which you might have seen before and some of which you probably haven't. Read more »

More Duke Nukem Forever Footage Leaks?

As 3D Realms and Take-Two continue to duke it out in court, it seems that even more Duke Nukem Forever footage has somehow made its way to the internet, apparently starting out on YouTube before moving on to PCGames.de and ending up here.

But before we get to the video, a cautionary word. The following is not an official trailer. It contains footage from a variety of sources, including the debut trailer from 1998 at one point. As for the Gearbox logo at the beginning, it's anyone's guess. As far as we know, Gearbox wasn't / isn't involved with Duke Nukem Forever, but was readying an all new-entry, Duke Begins, that has since been halted but not canceled. Read more »

Obsidian's Cancelled Aliens RPG Footage Leaks

Obsidian's Cancelled Aliens RPG Footage Leaks

The very first gameplay footage of Obsidian's cancelled Aliens RPG has emerged from the depths of the Internet, spotted by superannuation and confirmed as an authentic "extremely early pre-production build" by Obsidian (via Blend Games).

Though low-resolution and murky, the footage shall probably remain the best in-game look at the Aliens RPG. Little was heard from the title following its announcement in 2006 until several rumours of cancellation and a denial from publisher Sega, then in 2009 Obsidian Entertainment declared it was "no longer a product that is in development."

Xbox 'Game Room' Revealed in Leaked CES Vid, Project Natal's 2010 Launch Affirmed

While Microsoft's Consumer Electronics Show 2010 keynote doesn't kick off for a few hours--6:30 PM PST / 8:30 PM CST--news is beginning to trickle out as the company inadvertently posted a video discussing some impending announcements.

The video, noticed by Joystiq and still on Microsoft's servers as of this writing, sees Entertainment & Devices Division president Robbie Bach discuss something called "Xbox Game Room," seemingly a collection of retro-esque Xbox 360 mini-games, which fits with earlier rumblings of a virtual arcade for Xbox Avatars. Leaked Modern Warfare 2 Footage Reveals Controversial Terrorist Sequence (Updated)

Update 2: Activision has released an official comment on the video, saying that the footage is "not representative of the overall gameplay experience in Modern Warfare 2." More below.

Update: The video has been removed at the request of publisher Activision, citing copyright infringement. The rest of the story, however, remains unchanged.

Leaked Sega Doc Reveals Industry Workings: Exclusivity, Interoperability and Differentiation

Sega's presumably accidental publication of a confidential talk with PlayStation maker Sony did more than just leak word of downloadable PS2 games for PS3--it provides a rare glimpse into the workings of the industry and the deals that determine exclusivity, what controller is in a commercial, and whose game will be displayed where at E3.

The document, which inexplicably appeared recently on Sega's Media FTP, covers a number of topics, such as Sega asking Sony for a list of "Sega IP that would work well with the motion controller"--an "easy way to differentiate the PS3 SKU." Read more »
