Inafune in talks for Mighty No. 9 movie adaptation

Keiji Inafune's Mega Man-like project Mighty No. 9, which raised over $3.8 millon on Kickstarter, isn't slated to release until 2015. However, the game could be just the start for the new hero, as word has it that someone could be signing on to produce a movie script very soon.

Vita won't benefit from 'a lot of otaku games,' says Inafune

Game designer Keiji Inafune has been very critical of the Japanese market, both before and after leaving Capcom to pursue his own projects. Now that he's calling the shots with his own studios, he's announced several titles ranging from the cute and fluffy to the dark and grisly. On the gruesome end of the spectrum is Soul Sacrifice, which Inafune says he is putting on the PlayStation Vita because his creative goals of appealing to Western audiences are a good fit for what the device needs.

'Soul Sacrifice' is Inafune's Vita game

If nothing else, Keiji Inafune's games are diverse. The outspoken ex-Capcom executive is credited with helping to create both Mega Man and Resident Evil, after all. He's is at it again, now, juggling between the adorable 3DS King of Pirates, the social mobile game The Island of Dr. Momo, and the gruesome Vita title Soul Sacrifice.

Inafune calls Japanese industry 'very closed-minded'

Former Capcom designer Keiji Inafune has been vocal about Japanese game development for quite a while. The creator of Mega Man left Capcom amid sharp criticism that the Japanese games industry was creatively stagnating. Inafune's talk at this year's Game Developers Conference, titled "The Future of Japanese Games," was no less critical of his home turf.

Inafune's Kaio King Of Pirates revealed

Former Capcom executive Keiji Inafune has revealed another game from his new ventures. This time, he's taken the wraps off of a 3DS action-RPG titled Kaio King Of Pirates. The cute trailer shows a variety of animal characters dressed as swarthy sea dogs, sword-fighting and swashing buckles and such. The trailer is completely in Japanese, but in a good sign for a domestic release, it already includes translated subtitles.

Keiji Inafune reveals new mobile game

Keiji Inafune has revealed his next game, an iOS and Android social game titled The Island of Dr. Momo, reports IGN. If that sounds like a sweeter version of the H.G. Wells classic, The Island of Doctor Moreau, you're pretty much on the right track. It seems that Inafune is dipping his toes into the sim category, with a pinch of playing god.
