As teased last week, the first major iPhone software update to Apple's iOS 4 is now available on iTunes.

'Game Center' is one of the many features included in the update, enabling multiplayer gaming, game-based achievements, and leader-boards. Read more »

Apple announced the impending arrival of its social Game Center App at its corporate Keynote presentation yesterday. The App was first announced back in April of this year.

Not to be confused with GameFly's own GameCenter App, Apple's Game Center will be available next week for most Apple devices in conjunction with the iOS 4.1 roll-out, but won't be ready for the iPad until the release of iOS 4.2 in November. Read more »
