X-Men: Battle of the Atom card-battler coming to mobile this fall

The X-Men are celebrating 50 years in comics, and Marvel and GREE have announced a new mobile game as part of the festivities. X-Men: Battle of the Atom is a collectible card battling game that spans the lengthy (and complicated) X-Men continuity, and lets you play card-battle versions of big story events. It's due this fall on iOS and Android devices.

OpenFeint shutting down on December 14th

Mobile achievements provider OpenFeint will be shutting down its service on December 14th, the company has announced. The cross-platform service was available in a number of iOS and Android games, including Fruit Ninja, Tiny Wings, The Moron Test, Robot Unicorn Attack, and more.

The service is being discontinued in favor of GREE, the service of OpenFeint's new parent company.

GREE expansion brings Yakuza, Resident Evil to iOS & Android

GREE Platform, which is expanding next year as it merges with OpenFeint, has announced a list of publishers on-board with the mobile push. Some of the biggest Japanese publishers are listed, including Capcom, Sega, Square-Enix, and Namco-Bandai. The mobile platform is set to launch in Q2 of 2012, which places it between April and June.

Keiji Inafune reveals new mobile game

Keiji Inafune has revealed his next game, an iOS and Android social game titled The Island of Dr. Momo, reports IGN. If that sounds like a sweeter version of the H.G. Wells classic, The Island of Doctor Moreau, you're pretty much on the right track. It seems that Inafune is dipping his toes into the sim category, with a pinch of playing god.
