Over 15 years and nine games, David Hayter has been the voice of Snake. His gravelly voice has come to define Metal Gear Solid. When Kojima Productions debuted Metal Gear Solid 5, many fans were surprised (nay, upset) to discover that Hayter would not return for the upcoming game. However, perhaps no one was more surprised than Hayter himself.
"If it were my choice, I would do this role forever," he said. "To hear anyone else's voice coming from Snake's battered throat, makes me a little ill, to be honest."

The Metal Gear games are known for being confusing. Apparently, that trait is bleeding out beyond its narrative. Yesterday's reveal of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain suggested that the game was a combination of The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes. However, Konami has confirmed that they are, in fact, two separate games.
"Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain are two separate games," a Konami representative told GameSpot. "Ground Zeroes will actually be a prologue to The Phantom Pain, and that's all we can share at this time."

Ooh, what a merry chase The Phantom Pain is leading us on. Is it all an elaborate ruse for a new Metal Gear game? Is it happy coincidence that the first name of developer Moby Dick Studio's CEO, Joakim Mogren, is an anagram of "Kojima?" One thing's now for certain: the game is built upon the Fox Engine, Kojima Productions' shiny new tech.

Once the leader of the genre, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series has been trumped by EA's FIFA games, both in sales and critical reception. With a new generation of consoles looming, what can Konami do to get its football game in top shape? Get help from Kojima Productions, of course.
Kojima Productions has been toiling away at a new graphics engine for quite some time. Fox Engine, which powers the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, looks quite impressive. Konami plans on using a modified version of that engine for its upcoming PES games.

There was a serious lack of Metal Gear Solid: Rising action during Konami's pre-E3 conference today; however, Kojima Productions did offer one new announcement: a new development engine, powering a new Kojima-directed game.
Hideo Kojima dropped a few hints on a future project being developed at his internal Konami studio, explaining that the unannounced title will run on the team's brand new technology--aptly named the "Fox Engine." The engine is a multiplatform development tool that Kojima Productions will use in-house. Though platforms were not explicitly stated, Kojima teased demoing the tech by picking from a line-up of control options for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 [via GameTrailers]. Read more »
