Elder Scrolls: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition announced

With the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim coming later this year, Bethesda is providing a handy jumping-on point for those who are new to the series but fancy giving it a go--it has been five years since the last game was released, after all.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition will arrive on July 12 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, priced at $29.99. Game-wise, it'll contain The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion along with the 'Knights of the Nine' downloadable content and Shivering Isles expansion. While these were both included in the Game of the Year Edition released for $30 in 2007, the Anniversary Edition has physical perks too. Read more »

Impulse Adds Bethesda Back Catalog, Will Not Include Future Steamworks Releases

Stardock has added some Bethesda back catalog games to its digital storefront, offering gamers a chance to buy Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3, and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Many of the titles are available in "Game of the Year" or deluxe versions that include expansion packs or DLC.

BioShock and Oblivion Combine, Form Odd Bundle

An unlikely pair bonded mostly by critical acclaim and a mutual publisher, 2K Boston and Australia's narrative-driven shooter BioShock will soon be sold in a bundle alongside the standard edition of Bethesda's open-world fantasy RPG The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

As expected, three more Bethesda-published PC titles were today released on Valve's digital distribution platform Steam, with each game sporting a one-week 20% off sale.
