EA has been angling to be on equal footing with Activision's Call of Duty franchise, and the success of Call of Duty Elite has given the company a whole new reason to smolder with jealousy. EA Games' Patrick Sonderlund has taken note of Elite's success, and says the company is looking into something similar.
BioWare has promised DLC for both the single player and multiplayer halves of Mass Effect 3.
"We're going to be shipping with a pretty impressive array of different things you can unlock... but we're also planning on expanding that over time," BioWare's Casey Hudson previously said. A purported leak shows what some of those "expansions" will be.

The new SimCity was confirmed last night at an EA press event, for release on PC in 2013. Already available for pre-order on Origin, EA's distribution platform has confirmed the necessary system specs for the game.

Despite a previous problem striking a deal, Forza Motorsport 4 will get Porsches after all. The expansion, due this May, will include 30 Porsches in all -- 23 returning from Forza 3, and seven entirely new cars. It will also bring a Porsche career mode and 10 new achievements for 250G.

Army of Two and its sequel, The 40th Day were moderately successful. So what's a publisher to do? Double-down on it, of course. A new rumor is circulating that "Army of Four" is in development, after a Twitter slip from a voice actor.

Football season has come and gone, but that only means it's time to prepare for next football season. To that end, EA has released the first 16 cover athlete nominees for Madden NFL 13, covering the AFC West and NFC West divisions. Voting begins March 7.
SimCity 5 has supposedly been leaked by a German magazine. According to the rumor, Maxis is developing the game without series creator Will Wright leading the project. The game is scheduled for 2013, and will feature a spiffy new graphics engine and multiplayer mode among its various tweaks to the classic formula.

EA Sports has released a FIFA Street demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and it will be coming later today with the PlayStation Store update. The demo includes a sample of the World Tour story mode, letting you unlock some of the skill moves and dribbling styles. Those unlocked skills will then transfer to the full game when it releases.
Some Syndicate players have complained of game freezes, particularly on the Xbox 360. EA tells Shacknews the team is working on the problem, but in the meantime it offers a quick fix users can take to mitigate the issue.

The Simpsons have starred in their fair share of video games. Now, the long-running sitcom is crossing the threshold into the mobile platform. EA is working on a free-to-play iOS game starring the Springfield cast, which will use microtransactions as shortcuts to speed up game progress. The game is due sometime soon with an Android version scheduled to hit a few months after the iOS version.
EA has pulled its iOS game Battlefield 3: Aftershock due to quality concerns. The free game received poor reviews upon hitting the App Store, and EA's mobile division apparently paid attention to players' concerns.

It's been a light winter for most of the country, but you can get a little downhill powder time in virtually next week. A demo of SSX will be coming next week for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, creative director Todd Batty has announced.
