Saboteur Screenshots Sneak up, Shoot out

Following up on a marvellous Saboteur trailer last week, Pandemic has released new screenshots of its open-world stealth-action game set in World War 2 Paris. Be warned that one contains bare female bosoms, if folks around you love violence but hate boobs.

Saboteur slips onto PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 some time before March 31 2010.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Hands-on Preview

A full one quarter of the demo stations in Nintendo's color-free booth is dedicated to the recently announced New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is exactly what you'd expect from a multiplayer Mario game--Mario, Luigi, and a couple Toads simultaneously running from left to right, hopping over pits, collecting coins, and stomping on koopas. It's not exactly a co-op game, and it's not necessarily competitive, either. It's whatever you make of it. If you're so inclined you can bounce on your friends' heads, steal their power-ups, or even pick them up and toss them down a pit. If you're not a jerk, you can just play the game as you would any other platformer. Read more »

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Screenshots: Fear of a Flappy-fleshed Face

With combat removed from Climax's reimagining of classic survival horror Silent Hill, poor old protagonist Harry Mason is forced to flee from these furious fleshy foes, who'll apparently do their best to drag him out of hiding and pull him down. Mortifying.

The new PSP version screenshots are of interest too, as they show several different locations and more of the reimagining's snowy setting. Read more »

Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned Screenshots Cast Off

Disney has released more spiffing screenshots of Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, an open-world action RPG announced last month, set before the films.

Disney promises moral choices will affect both your personal pirate and the larger story, an adventure on land and sea fraught with piratical, natural and supernatural dangers--concept art suggests stormy seas and the iconic skeletal seadogs as potential perils. Read more »

Split/Second Races Fast, 'Splodes Often

Related Topics – Trailer, screenshots, E3 2009

E3 brings more media of Black Rock Studios' racer Split/Second. For the very first time, the batch features one screenshot without a single explosion (below, left).

The trailer certainly doesn't disappoint, delivering positively divine detonations--all of which are triggered by players to open new routes and, of course, crush their foes. Read more »

Star Wars The Old Republic E3 Impressions: Ready to Play KOTOR 3 With a Few Thousand People?

Judging from a lengthy E3 demo, BioWare's Star Wars MMO plays like a Knights of the Old Republic sequel. From dialogue to combat, its production values are on par with the developer's singleplayer efforts--which is saying quite a lot, considering that it's also planned to be a massive, full-featured online game.

Running on live servers back in Austin, The Old Republic already seems like a realized world. In the first segment, BioWare producer Dallas Dickinson ran us through the world of Hutta, beginning the game as the Bounty Hunter class. Read more »

Kojima Helping Birth New Castlevania on PS3, 360

Konami has announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, a new addition to the long-running action adventure series--though not a new game in itself.

Coming from Clive Barker's Jericho developer Mercury Steam, Lords of Shadow was originally announced without the Castlevania tag last year. It was then described as a "dark fairy tale" with exploration and puzzle-solving elements that focused on "one man's journey to discover the true meaning of sacrifice amidst murder and betrayal." Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2: Boobs, Guns, Blood

A trailer and new screenshots of Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 show largely the same goods: female flesh, oversized weapons, and a hefty dose of ultraviolence.

Not just a PlayStation 3 port of the Xbox 360's Ninja Gaiden 2, Sigma adds two-player co-op challenge missions, new enemies and three busty new playable characters. The new trailer stars one such lady, Ninja Gaiden 2's non-playable Rachel. Read more »

Square Denies Final Fantasy 14 PS3 Exclusivity, 'Considering All Options'

Following up on the surprise announcement of Final Fantasy XIV for PlayStation 3 and PC, Square Enix has clarified that, despite what Sony said yesterday, the upcoming MMORPG is not a PlayStation 3 console-exclusive and could very well end up on Xbox 360.

"We are considering all options at this time," Square Enix senior VP Shinji Hashimoto stated, via translator, at a press conference today. He stressed that FFXIV should not be considered a PS3 exclusive, noting that "all options" includes Microsoft hardware. Read more »
