Star Wars Battlefront opportunity 'very exciting,' says EA

Star Wars Battlefront opportunity 'very exciting,' says EA

When Electronic Arts announced exclusive rights to publish games with the Star Wars license, the news was met with some degree of cautious optimism. EA has taken its licks in recent years, but that could also mean we'd get some games that fans have been asking about for a long time. A new Battlefront game, for example, would carry a lot of weight, and EA CFO Blake Jorgensen recently hinted at just that possibility.

Disney has closed LucasArts, and with that closure goes several of the projects. But a look back at the last few months of the developer's life reveals that cancellations and shelved projects were already ongoing at the developer, and Disney seems to have simply accelerated the process.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse re-rated for current-gen consoles

Could another classic Disney platform be getting a revival? Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse looks to be getting a current-gen re-release, but will it be an HD remake a la DuckTales?

Developed and published by Sega, Castle of Illusion was originally released in 1990 for Genesis. Most recently, Disney attempted to recapture the spirit of the classic with a 3DS follow-up, Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion.

Warren Spector wants to be 'bored,' then do a startup or teach

Following the closure of Junction Point, Warren Spector wasn't quite sure what he would do. Though he's said he's "excited for the future," he hasn't given much comment on what he might do next. Even with a little time, though, he's still baffled at the closure, and starting to relax with his time off while he waits for his next project.

Rumor: Star Wars 1313 starred Boba Fett

Rumor: Star Wars 1313 starred Boba Fett

Before it was put on hold and then unceremoniously canceled with the closure of LucasArts, Star Wars 1313 was a promising, albeit mysterious, game. LucasArts was notably cagey about it, only noting that the hero's character model was a placeholder without acknowledging who it would be. Now that such secrets no longer matter, sources have confirmed suspicions that the game was meant to star fan favorite character Boba Fett.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix trailer recaps franchise story

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix trailer recaps franchise story

While it appears this generation will come and go without a proper Kingdom Hearts game, you'll be able to relive the original in HD with the 1.5 Remix coming to PS3 this fall. As previously reported, the HD collection includes an HD version of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix and an HD version of the PS2 remake of the Game Boy Advance game Re:Chain of Memories. There's also the cinematics from the DS spinoff game, 358/2 Days, but only the movies.

If that sounds confusing, it's because it is. Just like the franchise's utterly convoluted narrative. Watch this new English language trailer, appreciate the new visuals, and scratch your head in confusion as to how Disney ever greenlit these scripts in the first place.

Epic Mickey 2 makes surprise visit to PS Vita

The tale of Disney's Epic Mickey 2 doesn't have a happy ending. Warren Spector and Junction Point's platforming sequel fizzled when it launched last year, debuting to mediocre reviews. Oddly, Disney is giving the game another chance--announcing a new port of the months-old game for PS Vita.
