Diablo 3 review

The Diablo series has been a source of many fond gaming memories for me. Beating up on hordes of minions from Hell alone always made me feel like a hero, and I felt especially rewarded when recovering all the loot that spewed like a fountain from the corpses of the fallen and chests scattered throughout the dungeons in the games.

Diablo 3 nerfs Monk with 'drastic' rune change

Diablo 3 nerfs Monk with 'drastic' rune change

Diablo III is getting hit with a major change to the Monk class, after Blizzard determined that letting a overpowered rune exist in its current state was a "mistake." This comes among other hotfixes that apparently weakened the Wizard class as well.

The change comes to the Mantra of Healing rune, called Boon of Protection. It now caps damage absorption at the amount of healing provided by the Mantra of Healing in the first three seconds after activation. Blizzard recommends discontinuing its use until the rune is replaced in a future patch.

Blizzard investigating Diablo 3 account hack reports

Since Diablo III launched a week ago, a growing number of players have found their accounts broken into and their characters stripped bare, or even had their accounts outright taken. Blizzard is investigating these reports, initially blaming them on old-fashioned hacking techniques rather than a security hole in Diablo III, but some victims insist they've been hit even with a Battle.net Authenticator.

Diablo 3 diary: Monk reflections in the desert

I have traveled a good 17 hours into Diablo III and am now wandering the desert of Act II. As a monk, I must reflect on what I have learned an observed in my travels and impart that wisdom to those that may follow. Be warned: These reflections are not meant for those queasy about spoilers. Again, do not read these ramblings if you want to remain unenlightened about key boss battles from my early adventures.

Diablo 3 players find level of rainbows, unicorns

You might remember when Diablo III screenshots were first making the rounds, and the Internet had a bit of a collective freak-out over all the pretty colors. The game's producer urged calm, but apparently the team opted to have a bit of fun at the expense of the controversy. Players are discovering a secret level called Whimsyshire, and it's amazing.

Diablo 3 diary: The 'unlucky 13 hours in' edition

Diablo 3 diary: The 'unlucky 13 hours in' edition

The Skeleton King is dead.

Those of you that played the Diablo III beta knew this battle intimately, I, on the other hand, had abstained for the sake of keeping my game experience pure for launch day. So the battle against the undead Leoric was my first major challenge. Yeah, I had died once foolishly earlier, but this time, I kept death at bay with a combination of Crippling Wave strikes and a few well-timed Exploding Palms coupled with a Lashing Tail Kick to move to range so I could watch him bleed.(although seriously, how do skeleton's bleed?) The battle went well and I was rewarded a couple usable pieces of gear.
