Sony Pictures registers BioShock movie domains

Word of a BioShock movie adaptation is starting to bubble up yet again. This time, the impetus is from Sony Pictures, which has registered three new domains related to the adaptation. This appears to be an effort to lock down the names, though, so once again we may not see anything come of it.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea DLC trailer is also a portfolio of resumes

The latest trailer for BioShock Infinite's upcoming Burial at Sea conclusion is not only a marketing tool meant to entice you to buy the DLC, but it's also a portfolio for studio members affected by Irrational's sudden closure. In addition to footage, the trailer clearly points out what each team member contributed, and offers easy links to their resumes. That's a pretty classy act--all things considered.

BioShock Infinite 'Burial at Sea' trailer brings back the cast

BioShock Infinite will get part two of its Burial at Sea story next month, concluding the alternate-universe story that mixes Columbia's heroes with Rapture's crew of ne'er-do-wells. That meant bringing back a lot of voice talent, old and new, which is the focus of the latest teaser trailer for the DLC.

Best of 2013: #5 - BioShock Infinite

Best of 2013: #5 - BioShock Infinite

Columbia, the skyward world of BioShock Infinite, is one of the most beautifully-designed worlds I've ever seen in a game. It's a happy place in the sky, surrounded by colorful landscapes, cheerful citizens, and beautiful (and anachronistic) music. However, the more of Columbia I discovered, the more twisted and ugly it became, warped by racial intolerance and total religious perversion. Discovering, and subsequently unraveling, this would-be utopia had me constantly searching for collectibles (like Voxophones), trying to piece more and more of the world together.

BioShock Infinite 'Burial at Sea' coming November 12

BioShock Infinite's anticipated return to Rapture will hop into a submersible on November 12, Irrational Games has announced. Burial at Sea, the first story-based downloadable content, will tell an alternate take on Booker and Elizabeth, this time as the pair inhabit the sprawling underwater mega-city from the first BioShock game.

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea demands 'thoughtful' approach while playing as Elizabeth

BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea demands 'thoughtful' approach while playing as Elizabeth

BioShock Infinite DLC "Burial at Sea" will let players play as Elizabeth for the first time. But what does that mean? How will that work?

"Liz is such a different character to Booker, and if we were to just put Booker in a dress, then that would be the most awful betrayal of what we're doing for Liz, and players would just feel like it was a cheap way out, and that's not something that we want to do," level designer Amanda Jeffrey said. Instead, playing as Elizabeth will require being "much more thoughtful."

Valve refunds gamer due to BioShock Infinite's religious content

Valve refunds gamer due to BioShock Infinite's religious content

Players are forced to make choices in games all the time, and most of the time those choices have little bearing on one's personal life. But what if a portion of a game went against your religious beliefs? Apparently one person felt so strongly about a certain part in BioShock Infinite that they returned the game.

Warning: Spoilers follow.

After eight months, Irrational VP Rod Fergusson plans to leave

After eight months, Irrational VP Rod Fergusson plans to leave

Epic's former production director Rod Fergusson joined Irrational Games in August to help wrap up development on BioShock Infinite. As EVP of development, Fergusson joined the team at a time when rumors suggested there was trouble surrounding the long-in-development title. As the game's "closer," Fergusson helped ship Infinite to pretty wonderful reviews.

Eight months after joining Irrational Games, it appears Fergusson is ready to move on.

BioShock Infinite board game in the works

BioShock Infinite has gotten one of the strongest critical receptions in years, including a thumbs-up from our own review. But if for some reason you're still bummed about the lack of multiplayer, you could always get the upcoming board game to toy around in Columbia with your friends that way.

BioShock Infinite review: ambitions fulfilled

With BioShock Infinite, developer Irrational Games has the daunting task of creating an experience that is as engaging as its genre-defining predecessor, BioShock. How four women created Elizabeth for BioShock Infinite

How four women created Elizabeth for BioShock Infinite

Apparently, Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite is something of a franken-woman. According to a new video released by Irrational Games, her character was constructed from four different people. Courtnee Draper gives her her voice, while Heather Gordon is her motion capture actress. Character motivations come from level designer Amanda Jeffrey, while her real-life persona from Russian cosplay personality Anna "Omerli" Moleva.
