Monday.. bah.

Quite a few things to get done today, hopefully I don't break the page while I'm hax0ring away. Been trying to figure out a system for the IOTD stuff and I'm pretty sure I got it figured out. Gonna be a real pain in the ass though. In the mean time, check out this picture and marvel at mother nature. An AVault article which was pointed out to me by a couple of friends raises the question of corporate ownership of websites representing a nonbias view but in fact being owned behind the scenes as a pr machine for companies in question. I guess I should go on record just like Blue did and state that Shugashack is 100% owned by me, and much like him buyout offers to come from time to time but I don't plan on selling any time soon. :)

Got some bad news for you guys. Is it past your curfew? According to this Phillipine Daily Inquirer article it looks like Phillipine internet cafes are going under curfews. Internet viewers under the age of 18 can't enter an internet between 7am and 5pm. They are offering up a fine for anyone found breaking the curfew. Nothing like sneaking out of the house and using your fake id card to visit your favorite websites. Thanks Rick B. for the link.

Not a lot to say really, not a whole lot of time, as classes have resumed and I'm exhausted :-/ I am eagerly awaiting the report on whether Steve has broken the "Most White Russians Consumed in One Sitting" record, but nothing yet. Hey check out these [shot1] [shot2] [shot3] of the Playstation 2 that was announced yesterday...looking more and more like a PC. Speaking of console stuff, how are you guys enjoying your Dreamcasts? They sold an absolute assload of those things, so I know some of you must have 'em!

The Playstation2 has finally been announced. They have also released word that the development kits are shipping and really interestingly some details on that huge PSX2 network in development. Thanks Ray "disfunction" Gray.

I got a fair amount of work done on a little article I've been wanting to do which I'll shoot to have posted Wednesday or Thursday. Clay and Marcus been taking good care of you guys while I've been gone?

Saw on Blue's that the NetGamesUSA page has been updated revealing the winner of the GroundZero tournament with stx-wombat taking the $10Gs. Others that made it to the final include QuakeCon winner DieharD, RiX, Sploidicus (all from r3volution), Bane, Sujoy, gemini, and many others. Congrats, wombat!

Well, lookee here, I'm back yet again. I feel sorry for you guys. But, I do have a surprise for you guys that will be rearing it's head early next week. You guys will either love it or hate it :) By the way, I was at a concert recently. Here's a small list of things that should not be permitted:

• Old people
• Old people wearing revealing clothing
• Singers who think people worship the ground they walk on
• People who worship the ground the singer walks on
• The guitarist/bassist/drummer/any one who isn't the lead singer singing
• People who make balloons out of the condoms they give out at the Trojan stand

The army only said they selected it because it doesnt allow remote logins, so it is therefore "secure". Hell, I should have sold them my toaster to use as a webserver, it doesnt allow remote logins either, and at least it can process 2 slices of toast in parallel.

Good old Slashdot has reported that Linux god Linus Torvald has announced a freeze on features for the next major kernel release, meaning within the next couple months (before the end of the year) we should see a 2.4 release.

What's up? You from out of town? Anyway, no "late night" update from sTeve last night, and no idea where Marcus is. Well at this point I'm just trying to make sure the date seperator bar doesn't get stuck in right bar. Anyway, if you haven't seen the Dreamcast, go check it out - and play the boxing game. There is just something fun about being "Afro Thunder" and putting the smack down on everybody :) Hopefully I'll be around in a little while to do some more news for ya. Ok, this isn't games related, but pretty freaking funny nonetheless... the Army has dumped NT as it's webserver and chosen.... the Mac OS! ok. This is pretty funny. Macs are great for like artists and "thinking different" and nifty colors, but not for dishing up web pages. Will our national defenders choosing such a.... pansy? web server send a message to all our enemies saying "come take us over, we're weak!" ? I can just see it... Canada and its hordes of eskimos marching over the border... :) Thanks Hyper. Flame away here.

neeener neeener I got werd today. Anyway, so here's what I've personally been up to. First of all, trying to keep track of all the action in the ChatShack and secondly trying to set up a telnet bbs so I can play LORD and TradeWars on my own terms. I've been trying to find a Linux based BBS package that supports DOS doors, and blech, it's a pain. If anybody has any suggestions, or if you'd call (telnet) to a "games" board, let me know. Uhhhh hopefully I can find crap to post somewhere, you guys send some it. It's boring today.
