I Like Boobies

Jun 04, 2008 9:33pm CST tags: Shacknews, Boobies
So, as the headline says... I like them. So much so that I'm apparently willing to walk around Dallas to prove that I do. I actually told the wife I had a feeling that a few people on this here website also like boobies and are willing to donate for them to stay in this world. So in honor of that the wife and I are asking a few of you to sponsor our race for the cure this weekend. I mean, you do like boobies right? You must feel lucky there are boobies in this world!

In the spirit of giving, I also encourage anyone who actually donates to post in the comments pictures of your favorite boobies. I set the goal at $5,000 because I really believe there are a lot of you guys who are generous and/or have been touched by this personally. Sorry, they dont take PayPal. Annoying, yes. But then again so is cancer.

This Game's For the Birds

Jan 19, 2006 4:45pm CST tags: boobies, Games: PC
Ever played Age of Ornothology, from German developer Schadenfreude Interactive? No? You missed what was arguably the best avian realtime strategy game of 2003. The game never got the attention it deserved, so Gamasutra is now hosting a belated postmortem straight from the developer. Developers or aspiring designers with hopes to muscle in on bird-based strategy titles would do well to learn from the lessons of the game's development.
1. AI is hard. Our most recent titles were two auto-racing games (Nazgul Thunder and Cthulhu Karts) and a Battlemech fishing simulator (Steelhead Battalion), none of which had much strategy beyond "veer to the left a bit before a right turn so you can maintain higher speed" and "use the spinnerbait." So naturally, we made a few fledgling mistakes. We didn"t foresee the need for a complex birdseed-scattering algorithm to distribute food evenly, so early versions were plagued with "chicken rushing."

The game was never released in the United States due to censorship issues with misunderstood bird nicknames such as "blue-footed boobies" and "tufted tits," but Age of Ornothology's legacy lives on.

Late Night Consoling

Nov 18, 2004 10:00pm CST tags: FCC, Sega, boobies, Games: Console, Sony, Metroid Prime: Hunters
It happened. At 21.4356 years of age, I had my first "Kids these days!" moment. It occurred earlier today when I stopped in at a local EBgames to check out the Nintendo DS. There were two, side-by-side, and noticed the person stationed on the right was fooling around with PictoChat. I joined the chatroom and drew a smiley face. He replied with a drawing of his own, one too crude to describe here for fear of FCC repercussions. It didn't take long for me to realize PictoChat is an amazingly cool app and I felt jealous that I wasn't in the 6th grade anymore. "Oh man, kids these days are so lucky!" I thought. I would've killed to have a wireless chat device when I was in junior high. Then when we got bored of drawing boobies, we'd fire up Metroid Prime: Hunters. I was very surprised at how comfortable it was to use the stylus to aim; very smooth and accurate. I expect the DS to soon be making headlines across the nation as school after school bans them from the classroom.
ps2 Gran Turismo 4 Delayed Until 2005...
The perpetually delayed Gran Turismo 4 just received another setback. Currently planned for a December 14 release this year, Sony announced that the game will now slip into the first quarter of 2005. Ron Eagle, PR manager of SCEA, commented, "Natural challenges with finalizing all the key features and localization issues across worldwide territories have led to the difficult choice of pushing back the release date in order to ensure that Gran Turismo 4 lives up to the exacting standards of the 36 million-plus fans worldwide that have purchased previous versions of our best-selling franchise."
ps2 Xbox ...Along with The King of Fighters 2002/2003
GT4 wasn't the only delay of the day. SNK NeoGeo USA revealed that their online brawler The King of Fighters 2002/2003 has been kicked back to January or February of 2005. No official reason for the delay was mentioned.
PSP Ignition Unveils "Mercury"
Not only are they bringing over quirky Japanese games to the US, but Ignition is also developing some of their own. The publisher has tapped Awesome Studios to develop Mercury, a puzzle game that, at first glance, appears to be much more sophisticated version of Marble Madness. Players control a gloop of mercury and they tilt the world board around (think Super Monkey Ball) as they navigate the mercury ball through traps, obstacles, and hazards.
Xbox Free Xbox Game with Live Referral
Microsoft revealed a new promotion for the European market that could have gamers scoring up to ten new games...free! These aren't your bargain basement titles either; there are ten choices, with such big-names as Fable, Rallisport Challenge 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, and Ninja Gaiden. There's no limit on how many games a person can accrue, so if you're anxious, go to the site here and refer a pal.

Pretty Colors

Jan 29, 2002 12:02pm CST tags: boobies, zGeneral News
Just a note about the pretty colors I mentioned yesterday. I decided to color code a couple different post categories. Firstly, in the event of a post containing relevant or interesting information about a story at hand, or a post by a developer involved on the project, we'll be marking the post with a teal header so the more interesting/informative posts are easier to spot. Secondly, if a post contains a link that would be considered "Not Work Safe" such as boobies etc, it will have a dark red stripe across the top of the post. They will look like this:

Informative/Interesting
Not Work Safe

In order to see Not Work Safe posts, you must adjust your options. A couple of notes though, currently in threaded mode subthreads are not capable of showing the color coding until we get a code update. Hopefully we'll get that remedied in the near future. The big fear here being that a change like this may turn threads in to a "look how smart I think I am" pissing match. If that happens, I'll pull the feature. But I'm hoping this just encourages a few more good posts and makes it easier for most people to spot the especially interesting things people or developers say.

Also: There are currently no plans for color coding any other categories. If you choose to browse the stupid/trolling posts that's your decision.

Weekend Movie Review

Jun 16, 2001 8:11am CST tags: boobies, Hollywood
Here we are again with the weekend and maybe this will actually become some kind of regular thing again. Here's a few recent movies that I've seen and my expert opinion on them that you arent allowed to disagree with. Just nod your head and say "you go girl!" or something.

6.7 - TombRaider: Bummer man. The movie just never really grabbed me. The action scenes were kinda fun and big boobies are always welcome but the whole thing just felt uninspired. Mortal Kombat still stands alone as the only halfway respectable videogame movie.

7.4 - The Animal: I'm a pretty big fan of brainless movies. The Animal was pretty funny at a few points but not really something I'd recommend paying more than a few bucks to see. Not bad.. but not all that great either.

8.7 - Evolution: Really pretty well executed. Interesting and enjoyable all the way until the end. The end just kinda sucked... they had this spectacular atmosphere created and then it just felt like they were thinking "oh man it's almost 2hours, lets end it quick!" and did so. Doh. Still very much worth seeing.

8.3 - A Knight's Tale: Fun movie, good to take the woman with you to. The lead wasnt very likable but the whole modernizing ancient times theme was entertaining on its own.

TombRaider Movie Interview

PCGameplay has a pretty good interview with Angelina Jolie talking about her role in the upcoming TombRaider movie. She mentions large boobies. Thanks Blues (Who also mentions large boobies, yay)

Tomb Raider Movie Interview

The Gamespy Daily people had the opportunity to interview several people from the Tomb Raider movie crew, to talk to them about the upcoming movie based on the 3rd person games of the chick with the big boobies. Talking about boobies (they are good), one of the people being interviewed is star Angelina Jolie. Also interviewed are two of the other actors, director Simon West and two of the producers. Besides questions about the movie, they are asked about the TR games as well, though not everyone has played them.

Boobies & Robots

Dec 01, 2000 11:45am CST tags: Will Wright, Ensemble, boobies, Games: PC
An interesting article over on RedHerring asks the simple question, How to design a blockbuster game? (Thanks BluesNews) Obviously Boobies and robots, uhduh!? But apparently these guys decided to consult gaming expert Thresh, Will Wright of Maxis (The Sims), and Bruce Shelley of Ensemble (AoE). Check it:

RH: Is it the same game that you make for hard-core gamers?
Bruce Shelley: No, I don't think so. I think you put different games in the same box. What we try to do with Age of Empires is cater to both the hard-core community and the large casual market within the same box, but by putting in different gaming options.

Weekend Movie Review

Ventured outside momentarily to check out the Charlies Angels movie. I dont know how else to put this but that I was blown away. The movie was damn good. Cool action, hot chicks, stuff blowing up, comedy, its all in there. These guys took what was admittedly a very hokey concept and turned it into one of the best movies I've seen all year.

I was expecting painfully corny jokes and some substandard chicks trying to look athletic stunts. It was just good stuff though, worth seeing twice and buy the DVD when it comes out. I never realized Drew Barrymore had nice boobies before tonight. I like boobies.

Fighting The Woman

Ah yes, domain wars. According to this recent article Madonna recently got an order from the WIPO for a porn site owner to release Madonna.com to her. If you guys remember something similar happened with Sting a while back. Sting lost though. Wonder if it had anything to do with this time Madonna.com was a porn page (Thanks emitecaps)

United Nations' copyright intellectual property agency, ruled that New York web developer Dan Parisi had no trademark right to the name and failed to provide legitimate interest in the domain name.

Showing boobies to the world seemed pretty legit to me...
