Fallout 3 'Mothership Zeta' DLC Gets Release Date

Mothership Zeta, the last of the five announced downloadable expansions for Fallout 3, will debut on Monday, August 3, developer Bethesda announced today.

Priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), the add-on will be available for PC and Xbox 360 players that day, with PlayStation 3 owners of the action-RPG getting it a bit later on. Originally, Mothership Zeta was slated to arrive in late July, marking a slight delay.

Fallout 3 Getting Two More DLC Expansions, PlayStation 3 Finally Receiving All DLC

Two more downloadable expansions for Fallout 3 will arrive over the summer, developer Bethesda announced today, along with word that, beginning in late June, the PlayStation 3 will start to receive all of the Fallout 3 downloadable DLC announced thus far.

"Operation: Anchorage will be released for PS3 in late June, followed by the release of The Pitt and Broken Steel 4-6 weeks apart," said Bethesda. "Release dates will be forthcoming." Previously, that DLC was exclusive to the PC and Xbox 360.

Battlestations: Pacific Demo Coming Next Week

A downloadable demo of Eidos Studios Hungary's upcoming Battlestations: Pacific will hit Xbox 360 and PC next week on April 30, publisher Eidos revealed today.

Available from the Xbox Live Marketplace and Games for Windows Live Marketplace, the demo of the WWII sea and air combat game packs one single-player mission from the US campaign, along with an offline-only sampling of two multiplayer modes.

The full version of Battlestations: Pacific arrives at North American retailers on May 12, with a European and Australian release following just a few days later on May 15.

Fallout 3 'Broken Steel' DLC Dated, Previewed

Bethesda has revealed that its third bit of Fallout 3 downloadable content for Xbox 360 and PC, "Broken Steel," will arrive on May 5 at the usual price of 800 MS Points ($10).

That marks a slight delay from the previously stated April release.

The content was demonstrated at a press event yesterday, and Nick Breckon was on hand to provide his thoughts. Beware, his preview contains end-game spoilers for Fallout 3, but not the DLC, as "Broken Steel" picks up after Fallout 3's original ending.

In a nutshell, Broken Steel will remove the game's ending entirely, with Bethesda's Pete Hines saying simply to fans that called for an open-ended resolution, "We got the idea." Latest Fallout 3 DLC Full of Glitches and Floating Exclamation Marks, Developer Responds (Updated)

Update: Fallout 3 developer Bethesda has issued a statement on the reported issues.

"As of now it looks like the file for the English version on Xbox Live was somehow corrupted," marketing VP Pete Hines told Shacknews.

"We are continuing to look into the issues people are experiencing with The Pitt for Xbox 360," he added. "We are currently working with Microsoft to remove the existing file off of Live to prevent any further downloads. Our plan is to replace it with a new file as soon as possible."

Fallout 3's 'The Pitt' DLC Due March 24

Bethesda's next batch of downloadable content for the PC and Xbox 360 editions of Fallout 3 will arrive on March 24, the developer has informed Eurogamer. In commemoration of the announcement, several new screenshots were released.

Priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), the download, dubbed The Pitt, will allow players to explore post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh, face some moral quandries regarding slaves and Raiders, and wield a kick ass serrated rotary blade known as the AutoAxe.

A third bit of Fallout 3 downloadable content, Broken Steel, will be released for PC and Xbox 360 players in April. In addition to raising the game's level cap from 20 to 30, Broken Steel will also continue the story past the original ending.
