Blizzard today announced that starting tomorrow, a Warcraft 3 cinematic trailer will run before movies like James Bond: Die Another Day, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Star Trek: Nemesis, and Solaris. Additionally, AMC Theatres will be handing out Warcraft 3 demo discs containing three new single- and three new multi-player levels. This demo should be released online early December according to GameSpot.

The latest and greatest Warcraft 3 v1.04 patch is now available for download, grab it from the ever omnipotent Fileshack and repent for your sins. Pretty hefty change list there, just look at the link.

GameSpot has posted a new Q&A with Blizzard's Bill Roper, talking to him about all that is Warcraft 3. Bill is asked about things they are happy with when it comes to WC3, things that were less good, what the team is doing now, expansion plans and a few other things.

According to this press release, Warcraft 3 has already sold more than a million units around the world. It has reached this mark faster than Blizzard's previous two games, Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. 4.4 million copies of the game have shipped to retailers worldwide. Following in the tradition of previous Blizzard games, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is now the seventh Blizzard product not only to sell 1 million copies, but also to reach #1 in U.S. sales. The game, which began shipping on July 3, is topping PC sales charts in North America, Europe and Asia. "We are very excited about the worldwide demand for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos," stated Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder. "We put a lot of effort into polishing every aspect of Warcraft III, and the game's popularity tells us that our long hours and hard work have paid off."

Today is indeed Warcraft3 day for the majority of the US. A few lucky people managed to get the game a day or two earlier but today you should be able to find the game in most stores that carry PC games. Have a look at the official Warcraft3 website or perhaps browse through our many Warcraft3 related news items or maybe check out the little release party coverage on GSI or MAYBE go out and buy the game! It's going for close to $60 in a lot of places, so if you can stand waiting you might want to do so for a week or two and wait for the specials. It's a Blizzard game, so the chances of it sucking are pretty slim.

Just before tomorrow's release of the game, Blizzard has released the first Warcraft 3 patch, which takes care of some minor issues. You can grab it from Blizzard's FTP or FileShack courtesy of Speakeasy. The patch is a small 1.7mb download.

A really brief Warcraft 3 Q&A is up at Worthplaying. Someone from Blizzard is asked about changes made to the game based on user feedback, new features on Battle.net, and plans for an expansion.

With Warcraft 3 now gold and on its way to stires, Blizzard's Rob Pardo made a Battle.net post explaining what they're gonna do with the beta version. The beta will go on for another week, and new patches will be released for it. A beta tournament will be held next week as well.

GameSpy offers up a rare look at the single player side of things in the upcoming Warcraft3. We've seen dozens of previews and countless screenshots of the multiplayer stuff. It seems the hip new thing to do is side quests which many of you probably recognize from GTA3:

One of the key RPG elements is side quests, Pardo said. These give the player a break from what can be linear gameplay. The player is under no obligation to take on these quests, but accomplishing them can bring a useful piece of treasure, or make the missions easier to complete. The player can destroy any buildings or crates in the game in the hopes of finding treasure or magic items.
