As part of their Halloween celebration Blizzard has released a new Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne multiplayer map. Jack-o-Lantern is a medium sized 2v2 or 3v3 map.

Warcraft 3 Patch, Tools Coming

The Battle.net Warcraft 3 page has been updated, mentioning that a 1.13 patch for the game and the Frozen Throne expansion pack will be released in a few weeks. According to Blizzard, "the patch will include many significant additions, including Acts II and III of the Orc Campaign, several new World Editor features, updates to many of the maps, and numerous balance adjustments". In addition to this, Blizzard will also release the art tools they used while developing the game, allowing people to create custom art.

The Warcraft 3 page on Battle.net is now offering a new map for the Frozen Throne expansion pack, Typhoon. The map is suited for 2v2 or 3v3 matches. Thanks Blues News.

Blizzard has released a new patch for both Warcraft 3 classic and Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, updating them to v1.12. The patches fix some bugs and also offer new balance changes.

Warcraft 3 Patch Out

As some of you might've noticed, the promised Warcraft 3 1.10 patch is now out. The patch, currently only available through the auto updater, offers balance changes and a whole bunch of new/improved features which you can read about here. Thanks Dark Yoda.

As noted in this Battle.net thread, a new patch for Warcraft 3 is on the way. This patch will add clan support and many of the interface enhancements found in the The Frozen Throne expansion pack, and should be out in a few days.

Blizzard War3X Signings

J.K. Rowling and Hillary Clinton aren't the only ones doing signings these days, as Blizzard has announced it'll have some signing sessions when Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne is released next week. Blizzard employees will be at Fry's Electronics in Fountain Valley & Sunnyvale, California midnight on Tuesday, July 1st. The first 500 customers at these two locations will receive a free Frozen Throne t-shirt and poster. More info is available here.

Warcraft 3 Expansion Beta Ends Soon

Blizzard sends over a note announcing that the Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne beta is ending on Monday. Over the past few months some 30,000 people helped test and improve Battle.net and the expansion itself. Frozen Throne will be in stores July 1st.

Following the earlier auto-update, Blizzard has now released manual patches for English and international versions of Warcraft 3. Version 1.06 offers a whole bunch of balance changes.

Warcraft Expansion GONE GOLD

Blizzard has announced today that their Frozen Throne expansion for Warcraft 3 has gone gold. Frozen Throne features four new campaigns, four new race-specific hero characters, new multiplayer maps and various other new features. Thanks WarcraftIII.Net.
Following in the tradition of previous Blizzard expansion sets, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne provides gamers with a vast new chapter in the epic Warcraft saga. In the single-player campaign, players revisit the war-torn world of Azeroth. Several months have passed since Archimonde and the Burning Legion were defeated at the battle of Mount Hyjal, yet a new threat has arisen throughout the land.
The expansion will show up in stores around the world in just over a month, July 1st. The price should be about $35 (not exactly cheap for an expansion).

Warcraft 3 Map Contest

Blizzard has just announced their plans for a Warcraft map contest, offering the opportunity to have your multiplayer maps included with the retail version of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Level designers have until April 11 to submit their maps; winners will get a signed copy of the Frozen Throne expansion pack and have their names mentioned in the credits.
