Vigilante 8 Arrives on Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday

Following publisher Activision's announcement two weeks ago, Microsoft today reminded everyone that Isopod Lab's vehicular car combat title Vigilante 8: Arcade will be available for Xbox 360 owners to download on Wednesday, November 5.
Priced at 800 Microsoft Points ($10), the Xbox Live Arcade game--helmed by the veterans that helped create the 1998 Luxoflux-developed franchise--packs eight-person online multiplayer, a single-player campaign, and miscellaneous tweaks.

Isopod Lab's oft-delayed revival of the long-lost vehicular combat series Vigilante 8 will at long last hit Xbox 360 as a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game on November 5, publisher Activision has announced.

Packing eight-person online multiplayer along with other tweaks, Vigilante 8: Arcade will sell for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). While the original was crafted by Luxoflux, Isopod Labs was formed by veterans from Luxoflux.

Vigilante 8 XBLA Delayed Until June

Despite being announced for a spring release, developer Isopod Labs has revealed that its Xbox Live Arcade re-imagining of Luxoflux's cult-classic vehicular combat title Vigilante 8 is not expected to arrive until June.

Titled Vigilante 8: Arcade, the downloadable Xbox 360 game is based on the original PlayStation and Nintendo 64 release, with the Isopod Labs team including several key members of the original V8 crew. Along with the expected graphical tweaks, it will feature eight-person online multiplayer and new, unspecified content.

"Our best guess is early June, but we'll keep you all updated," reads the studio's blog. "We were gunning for April and the game is is pretty much finished--we're currently tuning, working out bugs, and making sure the game runs well online and complies with a zillion little Microsoft requirements."

Isopod Labs also revealed that it is presently working on downloadable content for the game, though it offered no more details than a tease that the DLC is "neat."

Developed by Isopod Labs, a studio comprised of Luxoflux veterans, Vigilant 8: Arcade is based on the original PlayStation and Nintendo 64 title. Along with the expected graphical tweaks, it will feature eight-person online multiplayer and new, unspecified content.

No price point was specified in today's announcement.
