New on HomeLAN Fed today is this Q&A with Aaron Cohen of Electronic Arts, who's asked about the cancellation of the MMORPG Ultima X: Odyssey. Cohen mention we'll hear more about future Ultima Online plans at a July 15 press event.

Electronic Arts kills Ultima X: Odyssey is a new GameSpot story, reporting that the Unreal engine powered MMORPG has been cancelled. Following an evaluation of the project, EA decided to kill the project and dedicate resources to the latest Ultima Online expansion pack, the UO live team and "an unannounced Ultima Online project". According to producer David Yee
This isn't an easy decision but it's the right move for the future of all things Ultima, including the community and the team. We look forward to sharing our plans for the future of Ultima Online very soon.

We received this note from the people at Origin, who are looking for former Ultima Online players in the San Jose or San Francisco area. Through a research firm, Origin will be conducting focus groups February 4 and 5 in Sunnyvale, CA to find out where they should go with the next Ultima Online project. There will be six groups with 10 to 12 people each, who will be asked what they like and don't like about UO during a 90 minute session. Participants will be paid $100, contact information can be found here.
