Dutch developer Two Tribes today announced the development of Toki Tori, a downloadable puzzle-platformer hybrid for Nintendo's WiiWare platform.

Originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2001, Toki Toki employs a blend of the puzzle and platforming genres, tasking players with creative use of items and strategy to navigate the game's levels. Toki Tori's WiiWare incarnation sports a new look, updated content and an overhauled Wii remote control scheme.

The game will be made available on the WiiWare platform's North American launch, scheduled for a May 12 roll-out.
