Fans of castle-sieging and real-time resource management will get their fix with 2K's Stronghold Collection, a pack that bundles the five Stronghold games for $30. For those not keeping track of the Stronghold lineage, the pack includes Stronghold, Stronghold 2, Stronghold Crusader, the ridiculous Stronghold Crusader Extreme, and Stronghold Legends.

The entire bundle is DRM-free, ensuring a painless plate of strategy gaming. Look out for it in US stores on October 27; the rest of the world will see it sometime in 2010. We're checking on whether it'll make it to Steam and other digital retailers.

Publisher Gamecock has announced that Firefly Studios' castle-sieging RTS update Stronghold Crusader Extreme has entered the manufacturing process and will hit retailers on its scheduled May 28 release date.

Firefly Studios has announced Stronghold Crusader Extreme, an update of their 2002 castle-sieging RTS Stronghold: Crusader packaged with new content and cranked to eleven.

Stronghold Crusader Extreme, as the name implies, is an extreme edition of the original 2002 Stronghold expansion, featuring extreme 10,000-plus unit battles, new tactical powers and outposts, and a new extreme campaign for veteran players. Those new to the series will also be able to play an updated version Firefly's Stronghold: Crusader, accompanied by the original game and all previously released add-on content.

Stronghold Crusader Extreme will be published by GameCock and is aimed for a spring 2008 release.
