On improving single player: There are definitely some ambitious plans in place to do something different with the story mode campaign. Add some elements of replayability to it and give you a chance to really do something different. We'll probably have more to say about that later, but right now, it's not going to be--I'll just say, it's not going to be one mission at a time. There'll be some new stuff in there.
Blizzard has issued a few details about the game, most importantly noting that it will utilize "a custom 3D-graphics engine with realistic physics and the ability to render several large, highly detailed units and massive armies on-screen simultaneously." Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present."
In addition, CVG has been told by "well placed US sources" that a StarCraft MMO is in the works. So there you go, a StarCraft MMO may be coming soon. Or, as is more likely with Blizzard timetables, within the next 5 years.
