Elite Force 2 Announced

Apr 04, 2002 6:38am CST tags: Activision, Star Trek: Elite Force II
Activision today officially announced Ritual's Star Trek: Elite Force 2. Indeed, it lacks the Voyager subtitle as the game is now set in The Next Generation universe. The press release mentions the short gaming experience that was Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, and supposedly this will be improved

Now set in the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe, players can expect to face off against classic Star Trek antagonists such as the Borg, Klingons and Romulans. Players will also fight several never before seen alien species including a mysterious nightmare race. To help players gain the upper hand against such formidable foes, Star Trek Elite Force II allows players to arm themselves with 13 different weapons and gear including a phaser, compression rifle, multi-functional grenade launcher, Romulan disruptor, tetryon gatling gun, a full-featured tricorder, and several all-new weapons.
Over the course of the Star Trek Elite Force II, players will be able to explore different options or tactics when dealing with a threat, as opposed to being forced to pursue a particular path. Additionally, the game boasts a larger number of environments and a significantly longer gaming experience than the first Elite Force.
Star Trek Elite Force II marks the return of multiplayer Holomatch. Similar to the original game, Star Trek Elite Force II offers several multiplayer modes including modes found in the Elite Force Expansion Pack, but with new features and weapons like the Klingon Bat’Leth. Multiplayer modes include Holomatch, Capture The Flag, and Team Holomatch. ...

Ritual's Elite Force 2

Mar 29, 2002 4:22pm CST tags: Activision, Star Trek: Elite Force II
Over at Section31 they have some news up about Elite Force 2. In the May issue of PC Gamer, it is mentioned that Ritual is working on Star Trek: Elite Force 2. The game is using the Quake 3 engine like the original, and will be released in 2003. Twelve single player levels will be in the game, with one to seven missions per level. Multiplayer is also coming back. Here's a bit about the story

The story will at least in part, revolve around what happened when Voyager was sucked into the Borg Shpere in the series finale 'Endgame', just before it emerged in the Alpha Quadrant. So what happened while Voyager was inside the ship? "That's what you get to determine in this game," says a smiling Doug Pearson, Activision's producer on the project. "... You get to help determine exactly what happened." In this game, you once again fill the shoes of Hazard Team member Alex Munroe. There will be no female playable character as in the original EF.
