SoF2 MP Test Next Week

Gamespy Daily sent out this press release announcing that Fileplanet will be hosting the Soldier of Fortune 2 multiplayer test. It'll be released April 18. The demo will include one map, four game modes, 20 skins and all the weapons from the game.

SoF2 Q&A

There's a new Soldier of Fortune 2 interview and for once its not Kenn Hoekstra answering questions. Computer & Video Games has an interview with John Mullins, who is an advisor on the title as he was on the first game. They ask him about his involvement, if we're gonna play some missions based on his experiences in the army, what he thinks of the tech behind the game, how much Raven has improved the game, and several other things.

Gamespot is the latest site with some Soldier of Fortune 2 multiplayer impressions. Though there's probably not much new in there unless you know nothing of the multiplayer side of things, there are some new screenshots to look at. There's also a video preview with footage from the game.

No SoF2 Bots

According to this forum post on the Raven Software boards, Soldier of Fortune 2 will not ship with multiplayer bots. Though the message by Raven programmer Rick Johnson was posted on April 1, HomeLAN Fed has confirmed with Raven that this is not a joke.

As promised, we have a Soldier of Fortune 2 interview for you all. Raven's Kenn Hoekstra was kind enough as always to answer some questions about the game. We talk about the premise, AI assistance, the realism, the locations John Mullins visits, demo plans and more.

Shack: Some of the screenshots from the game show akimbo guns. Which weapons can we use in pairs?

Kenn: The two pistols and the micro-uzi can be used in pairs and can be mixed and matched so you can have two US SOCOMs for example, or a SOCOM and an Uzi, etc. The real John Mullins was rather appalled at the thought of guns Akimbo, but the fans wanted it so we gave them what they wanted. SoF 2 Demo News

We'll have a Soldier of Fortune 2 interview for you all on Tuesday, but I wanted to mention something from the interview already. Seeing how there isn't gonna be a whole lot of news today. Raven hadn't really confirmed any plans for a demo yet. Kenn Hoekstra however mentioned to me they are looking at releasing a multiplayer test soon, similar to what was released for Return to Castle Wolfenstein. There aren't any plans for an official demo yet though, as the team would rather finish the full game first.
