The last time we showed new screenshots from EA Black Box's Skate 2, we touched on the artistic element of the screenshots. Today, eight new shots from the game go full-blown artsy, showing skateboarding action as seen through the various lenses of conventional cameras. Of course, the skateboarding tradition of the fish-eye lens hasn't been forgotten.

The boarding sequel will arrive with its variety of camera lenses in early 2009 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

EA Black Box's skateboarding sequel has gained eight new screenshots today. There's one person in each shot, making for sixteen feet in the whole set of shots. Fifteen of those feet are not on the ground, opening up the potential for a lot of tricky awesomeness--or just a lot of pain.

These feet, due to their screenshot nature, are permanently suspended in air, leaving the skaters' fates to the viewer's interpretation. Whether you're a glass-half-full or glass-half-empty type, Skate 2 will land in early 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Skate 2 Announced for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360; Franchise Heading to Wii, Nintendo DS

Electronic Arts has announced that it is developing a direct sequel to EA Black Box's skateboarding title Skate (PS3, X360), referred to as simply Skate 2, along with separate Wii and Nintendo DS entries titled Skate It.

The Wii and Nintendo DS iterations of the series (both pictured below) are due out later this year. The Nintendo DS version will use the portable's touch screen to control tricks.

Along with motion-sensitive controls that "mirror actual skate flips and moves," the Wii edition of Skate It will support the Wii Balance Board that comes packed with Wii Fit.

As for Skate 2, it was only revealed that the sequel is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Released last fall, Skate and its thumbstick-centered control scheme outsold the competing Tony Hawk game by a ratio of 2:1, prompting Activision to halt its annual Tony Hawk iterations and rework the series. EA had previously noted that it planned more Skate games.
