New Singularity screenshots from Gamescom show various beasties and freaks found on a mysterious Russian island in Raven's PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 shooter.

Luckily you'll have a high-tech time glove--not actual name--on hand to manipulate enemies and the environment, rebuilding cover and crumbling foes to dust.

Publisher Activision recently turned its time glove on Singularity, setting it back until March 2010 to flee from the sales juggernaut that will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

These new screenshots for Raven's original shooter Singularity aren't very kind to our friend Generic Soldier. He has a tough time of it in any game, but these pictures must have been taken on a particularly bad day for him.
After being kicked out of the Modern Warfare 2-dominated holiday season, Singularity is now scheduled for a March 2010 release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Hot on the heels of yesterday's Dante's Inferno comic news--and in the run-up to Comic-Con--no less than three comic book adaptations of video games were announced today.

Mass Effect: Redemption by Dark Horse Comics will bridge the game between the first game and sequel Mass Effect 2, authored by ME2 script writer Mac Walters and drawn by Star Wars Legacy artist Omar Francia. The first issue will arrive on January 6 2010.

Raven Software's Singularity is to receive a graphic novel exploring the mysterious Cold War experiments which gave rise to the the shooter's time-shifting shenanigans. Coming from Twistory Studios and Image Publishing, it's due following Singularity's release--recently delayed until March 2010 to avoid competing with Modern Warfare 2.

Lastly, Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner is penning six new stories for a 128-page graphic novel which paves the way for Disney's upcoming movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. A variety of artists will illustrate the anthology, including Seaguy's Cameron Stewart and Tommy Lee Edwards of Marvel 1985.

Activision: Singularity Delayed Due to Modern Warfare

Jul 08, 2009 5:30pm CST tags: Singularity, Delay
Activision has confirmed to Shacknews that Raven's shooter Singularity has been delayed to March 2010 due to strong demand for the publisher's upcoming sequel Modern Warfare 2.

Singularity, a new IP developed by Raven, was originally slated for a fall 2009 release. The highly anticipated Modern Warfare 2 is set to launch on November 10, leading Activision to space out Singularity's release in avoidance of the busy season.

"The level of excitement for Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 coming out of E3 well exceeded our expectations and therefore we have decided to move Raven's upcoming sci-fi first person action title, Singularity, from 2009 to Q1 2010," said Activision in a statement.

"We believe that the March quarter will provide a better opportunity to establish the new cutting-edge action IP as a 'must-have' title and clears the way for Modern Warfare 2 to dominate this holiday season," the company added.
