SimCity Creator Details Unveiled by Electronic Arts; We Build This City on Wii, DS

May 29, 2008 9:41am CST tags: SimCity Creator, Screenshots
Announced earlier this year, Electronic Arts today released new details of SimCity Creator, an "accessible and light-hearted" urban simulation for the Nintendo DS and Wii.

The Wii version of SimCity Creator will see players zoning and building up cities as in past SimCity titles, with 13 different city styles to choose from. Mayors will be able to jump in a helicopter, jet or propeller plane to get a view of their creations.

Disasters are back, with players using the Wii remote to "create earthquakes, tornados, call in destructive robots and monsters, create fires and discover many more ways to cause havoc." The remote will also allow for the building of curved roads and transport, a first for the series.

The Nintendo DS flavor will focus on city building through the ages, with players progressing from ancient times to the future. This version is set to include Challenge, Free Play, Chance Encounter and Gallery modes.
Both the Wii and Nintendo DS version will ship on September 22.
