2K Games has released a new Serious Sam 2 patch, updating the Croteam shooter to v2.068. The 44mb patch adds DM support and a few new multiplayer admin options.

A new Serious Sam 2 patch is now out as promised, updating the game to v2.066. The 14mb download adds dedicated server support and also supports resolutions like 1280x1024, while fixing various bugs.

The guys at Seriously! have posted a changelog from a new Serious Sam 2 patch which they say will be released in a week or two. There will be fixes to sound and network code, additional resolution support (like 1280x1024), and dedicated server support.

There is a lengthy post on the Seriously! forums by a 2K Games marketing manager, addressing several Serious Sam 2 issues raised by the community. The post covers the lack of a DVD release, the cartoony look, the first demo and overall marketing and Linux support among other things.

As promised, an updated Serious Sam 2 demo is now available on FileShack. It includes the Seriousopolis Uptown level from the first demo, as well as the new level called Greendale. The demo now also supports 16 player co-op play, up from the first demo's 4 player co-op support. Serious Sam 2 is now in stores.

We received an email from 2K Games announcing that they'll be released a new Serious Sam 2 demo on Monday. Not only does it include the fixes from the recently released patch, the demo also contains a different level from the game.

The first patch for Serious Sam 2 has been released, updating the game (in stores tomorrow) to version 2.064.00. A patch for the demo is available as well. The change list

-Customize keys menu screen is now more mouse friendly.
-Mouse movement is ignored during key binding process (customize keys menu screen).
-Mouse buttons 4 and 5 are now supported (through the customize keys menu screen).
-Cheats button will no more appear on the main menu screen when the user is advised to adjust video settings for the first time.
-Questionable picture has been removed from the multiplayer menu screen.
-Virtual keyboard has been removed from the enter text (enter name) menu screen.
-If a profile is created after clicking on the 'Internet' button, the user is now correctly taken to the GameSpy menu screen.
-Quick saved game will now appear at the top of the saved games list (both for load and save game menu screens).
-Fixed problems with connecting to game servers over the internet.
-Internet server sorting now works correctly (through the 'Find match' menu screen).
-Popup menus used to enter server IP address now have button bars at the bottom to provide mouse functionality.
-Selected row in a list doesn't change any more if mouse is moved over the list while a popup menu is displayed.

GameSpy has the latest Serious Sam 2 preview, checking out the game's co-op play. Croteam's first person shooter sequel ships to stores this week.

The Seriously! forums have a link to a new preliminary patch for the Serious Sam 2 demo, taking care of several annoying issues. These changes include mouse movement now being ignored during the key binding process, the virtual keyboard being removed from the enter name screen, and there shouldnt be issues with connecting to internet game servers.

2K Games sends along a press release announcing that Serious Sam 2 has gone gold, and will be in North American retail stores October 11. As promised, the Serious Sam 2 demo is now available. The 236mb download includes the Seriousopolis Uptown level, which you can play by yourself or in co-op mode with up to four people. The demo also includes one vehicle, several enemy types and all of the game's fifteen weapons (though you'll have have to cheat to see them all).

Good news for all the Serious Sam fans, as 2K Games just let us know that a Serious Sam 2 demo is being released tomorrow! The 250mb download includes one level which can be played solo, or co-op over LAN or online with up to four people. It also includes all of the game's weapons, one of the vehicles and several enemy types. Look for the demo at 9AM CST.

1UP and Team Xbox have new Serious Sam 2 previews, going hands-on with a recent build of the game. Croteam's co-op shooter sequel is due out next month.

2K Games has released another set of Serious Sam 2 screenshots, showing various environments and several enemies. They also send along this piece of artwork by comic book and magazine cover artist Greg Horn. Anyone who pre-orders the game at EB Games or GameStop will receive a signed print of this piece of art, though much more interesting is the fact that you'll get the game on DVD. People who don't pre-order get the game on five CDs instead.
