A new downloadable map pack for SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs (PS2) and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault has been released as a free-of-charge download, SOCOM community manager David Brothers revealed today .

Containing SOCOM and SOCOM II maps Crossroads, Fishhook, Frostfire and Guidance, the new map pack is compatible with both SOCOM 3 as well as Combined Assault.

Accompanying the new maps is a price cut for the the previous two SOCOM 3 and Combined Assault downloadable map packs, with both now available for free.

"This is no April Fools joke," Brothers wrote. "We want to give something back to all of the fans who have stuck with us all of this time.

Both titles were produced by series creator Zipper Interactive. A multiplayer-only PlayStation 3 installment in the SOCOM series, titled Confrontation, is under development at Slant Six Games and is scheduled for a September 14 release.
