No Resident Evil game is complete without bizarre unlockable modes and costumes and The Darkside Chronicles certainly continues the trend, Capcom revealed today.

As well as an assortment of unlockable costumes ranging from mundane--Resident Evil 4 outfits--to baffling--western getups complete with chaps and spurs--the on-rails Wii shooter features a mode where zombies are transformed into possibly the only item more terrifying than the ravenous undead--the coagulated soy milk product known as tofu.

"Gunshots signal a return to fear and darkness," declares this trailer for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. Then, a few frames later, it bills the game as "a terrifying gun shooting experience" with "horror so realistic it will make your pulse race."

Oh, and don't forget that "fate lies in the darkness." That's bound to be key when Cavia's on-rails Wii shooter makes its way to North American stores on November 17.

Capcom's released a bunch of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles footage encompassing the material they're showing off at this weekend's PAX.

The sequel to Cavia's on-rails Wii shooter Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles will arrive in North America on November 17, publisher Capcom has announced.

Dubbed Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, the follow-up recreates the events of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica from a first-person perspective, with some "all new" scenarios also promised.

Along with the date, Capcom revealed that the "Let Your Darkside Out" shirt (above), which has a zombie face printed on the inside so that you can "instantly transform yourself into the walking dead" by flipping it over your head, can now be purchased from the Capcom Store and will be offered as a pre-order bonus at GameStop.

Zombie nostalgics will be pleased to note that Cavia's on-rails Wii shooter Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will largely consist of content based on Resident Evil 2 and RE: Code Veronica.

As media from Capcom's recent press event continues to emerge, we now have a new trailer and new screenshots from Cavia's Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.

The on-rails Wii shooter is due out this winter, allowing gamers to relive the events of Resident Evil 2 and other Resident Evil games through a first-person perspective.

Fresh off the official announcement of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, publisher Capcom has released a trailer for the on-rails Wii shooter. Developed by Cavia, the sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles arrives this winter.

As expected, Capcom today officially announced Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. The sequel to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, the Wii light-gun shooter hits this winter, revisiting the events of Resident Evil 2 and other games.

Capcom also revealed that Wii ports of the more traditional Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero entries are coming to North America under the Resident Evil "Classics" line. Both releases are based on the GameCube versions, with added motion controls.

Both of the survival horror ports are slated to arrive later this year, at $29.99 a piece.

Following through on Capcom's promise that Wii-owning Resident Evil fans would "be very happy very soon," word of a new Wii-bound Resident Evil game, dubbed Darkside Chronicles, has emerged from the pages of Japanese game magazine Famitsu.

A light-gun shooter similar to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (Wii), Darkside Chronicles will again revisit past Resident Evil games in on-rails shooter form. As with Umbrella Chronciles, development will be shared between Capcom and Cavia.

This time around, players will experience the zombie-laden events of Resident Evil 2 and other as-yet-unknown entries. Past teases suggest that the events of Resident Evil: Code Veronica will be featured in the game, which does not yet have a release date.

It's not called Umbrella Chronicles 2 because Umbrella is no longer the main enemy, according to an IGN translation of the report. Furthermore, the game is said to be more accessible than Umbrella Chronicles, and will focus more on replayability.

Expect more details on the title when it's officially announced by Capcom tomorrow.
