Responding to a content wishlist by a fan on the Project Gotham Racing 4 forums, Bizarre Creations community lead Ben Ward has revealed that the company will not be creating any future downloadable content for the game.

Bizarre Creations was acquired by Activision during development of Project Gotham Racing 4 (X360), and though the company did release the Free Challenge Pack and Premium Challenge Pack DLC after the game had shipped, any future updates will have to come from franchise owner Microsoft.

Said Ward, "I'm afraid Bizarre Creations won't be adding anything more to PGR4 in the future. We've completed the hand-over to Microsoft, so any further add-ons will come from them and not us I'm afraid."

Newly-acquired Activision subsidiary Bizarre Creations has revealed the first batch of downloadable content for its Microsoft-published Xbox 360 street racer, Project Gotham Racing 4, which hit retailers last fall.

As detailed on Bizarre's official site, the content will hit the online Xbox Live Marketplace on February 14. It will arrive in both free and premium offerings, with the latter priced at 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

The Free Challenge Pack contains two new game modes, a new car, and seven new achievements. On the other hand, the Premium Challenge Pack has everything contained within the free pack plus another gameplay mode, six additional cars, three new bikes, and three more achievements.

Both packs will add the TV Camera cheat as well, allowing players to race from the perspective of the replay cameras. For more on the content, including specifics on the vehicles and gameplay modes, scope out the full details.

I'm one of those skinny-armed guys that doesn't know anything about muscle cars. When it comes to racing video games, I've always preferred the unrealistic type--the F-Zeros, Mario Karts, and Wipeouts. Even still, I was a big fan of Project Gotham Racing 3. It gave me a hyper-real version of the racing world, and one that I could wrap my engine-ignorant mind around.

The fourth title in the series adds motorcycles to the mix, and I had a chance to take one for a spin this afternoon. Plowing down a Venetian course on a Suzuki--which can be ridden from a third person view, or behind the glass in first person, as any other car in PGR--was a lot of fun. On your bike, you can pop wheelies with a pull of the analog stick. You can grab some major air on jumps, gently shifting you weight to ease into the landing. Perhaps most importantly, you can crash in spectacularly painful ways. Burnout this is not, but rest assured, ragdoll tech is in full effect here.

Microsoft has released a few new details about Project Gotham Racing 4's Photo Mode. The same set of standard effects are back, with a couple additions: noise, wobble, tunnel, and vehicle blur filters.

Perhaps most interesting, in a 1986 Michael Jackson sort of way, is the new 3D filter. The effect will apply a 3D "cheat" to an image, allowing you to don those filmsy red-and-blue glasses for a "whole new perspective." Are the following screenshots viewable in three-dimensional magic?
