GameSpot is the latest site offering some hands-on Prince of Persia: Warrior Within impressions after playing a recent build of the game. Five screenshots are included. There's also a preview on PC.IGN.

This Playstation.com page reveals the title of the next Prince of Persia game, which had just been Prince of Persia 2 up till this point. It looks like the Sands of Time sequel will be called Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. Thanks Blues News.

Hollywood is just hot for those game based movies..today it was announced that Jerry Bruckheimer is interested in adapting Persia: The Sands of Time. The producer of The Rock, Crimson Tide and Beverly Hills Cop among many other hit movies, is currently negotiating a seven-figure deal to get the movie rights. Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner will be writing the initial script.

Mechner says Bruckheimer's "Pirates of the Caribbean" was a touchstone for the adaptation. "Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story - much as 'Pirates' did with the theme park ride."

GameSpot is reporting that to no-one's surprise, Ubisoft will develop a followup to last year's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. No other details were released today, except that the sequel is "being planned with an improved marketing positioning". Let's hope for more varied gameplay.

It took a while, but Ubisoft has finally released a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time demo, allowing you to try out this third person action adventure game. The demo is a 241mb download, and it's not entirely clear what is included but most likely it's a level from an early part of the game.
