The eight Prey development diary is now available over at the 3D Realms website. Project lead Chris Rhinehart tackles a variety of topics this time including music, rape, new voice work and a changelog from a recent build sent to 3D REalms.

The 3D Realms website has been updated with the seventh Prey weekly update, in which project lead Chris Rhinehart answers reader submitted questions. These questions are about things like music, vehicles, the dynamic difficulty system, the SpiritWalk feature and PC/Xbox 360 differences.

The sixth Prey development diary is now up at the 3D Realms website. This week, Human Head's Chris Rhinehart talks about the two-day motion capturing session for the game.

2K Games sends along three high-definition Prey gameplay movies, allowing you to see Human Head's sci-fi shooter in action. The first movie shows a minute of frantic multiplayer action, while this singleplayer movie shows off the spirit walking feature and the other shows Tommy blowing up a few bad guys.

Meanwhile, over at the 3D Realms website you can find the latest development diary. In this week's installment Chris Rhinehart talks about feedback from 3D Realms, adding more portal puzzles and tweaking combat among other things.

Next Generation is the latest site with some Prey coverage, asking project lead Chris Rhinehart about the game. Questions are about people's reactions to screenshots, the gravity gameplay, organic weapons, the Native American main character and next-gen consoles.

Voodoo Extreme is the latest site with a Prey preview, also offering singleplayer and multiplayer impressions based on a recent demonstration of the game.

There's a Prey Q&A over at Total Video Games, asking Human Head's Tim Gerritsen about the game. Questions are about the relationship with 3D Realms and resurrection of the project, DOOM 3 engine modifications, unique features, weapons, level design and multiplayer modes.

Boomtown, Total Video Games and Yahoo! Video Games all have their own Prey previews posted, offering impressions of Human Head's sci-fi shooter.

IGN, Kotaku, Computer & Video Games, EuroGamer and Hexus all have new Prey previews, offering impressions of the game which was recently shown off during a press tour. The articles touch on both the singleplayer and multiplayer modes.

It's Friday, and that means there's a new Prey development diary up at the 3D Realms website. In this installment project leader Chris Rhinehart talks about last year's voice recording session, with audio samples available from a few of the game's characters.

Weeklong Prey coverage on 1UP concludes with a brief article on the game's multiplayer, offering hands-on impressions. There's also more game and interview footage.

Day four of 1UP's Prey coverage is up, this time offering a preview of the game itself. The article offers impressions, and a look at the Tommy Tawodi player character and the spirit hawk Talon. There's also a singleplayer video here.

But while there are plenty of disruptive portals in the game, you may not be as familiar with the other sort being used. In fact, you may not even realize at first in the game when you've gone through one. These more subtle portals may be almost anywhere, and will make keeping your bearings that much more difficult. The basic idea is that you could be walking down a hallway, and without knowing it pass through a portal that has you now walking down a hallway somewhere else, in an entirely different set of proportions. A maze area was used as an example of how fiendishly this could be put to use was up to the task; it made your average carnival fun-house hall of mirrors look amatuerish. Now add gravity shifting and you can see how this is going to be one crazy game

Use your illusion is 1UP's third Prey article in their week long coverage of the game, this time taking a look at the modified DOOM 3 engine powering the game. Portal technology is still a big attraction of course, but the article also touches on the physics system and gravity gameplay. There are also new screenshots over here.

As promised, 1UP's interview with George Broussard of 3D Realms is now up, as part two of their five day Prey coverage. Broussard talks about the history of Prey, and the decision several years ago to start up development again.

Fell on black days is the title of 1UP's first feature in a week long series of Prey articles, first taking a look at the failed attempts to get this game made prior to Human Head Studios taking over the project. The rest of the week will see multiplayer impressions, game media and an interview with George Broussard.

The second Prey Weekly Update has been posted over at the 3D Realms website. This week's installment covers the upcoming press tour, and an update on programming, level design and art. Here's a bit about the multiplayer that will be shown off at next week's press tour (Chris will be at the San Francisco event, so expect impressions before too long)

After the single-player portion, we're going to play some MultiPrey deathmatch to give them a feel for that side of the game. We've picked out three maps for them to play - one that focuses on wallwalking, one that focuses on gravity flipping, and one that is all about spherical gravity (fighting on small planetoids). I'm looking forward to their reactions as those elements can be confusing at first, but most of our in-house testers have picked them up quickly. The multiplayer has really come together - the weapons feel very balanced and nearly all the gameplay from the single player is available in multiplayer: spiritwalking, gravity flip, vehicles, and so forth. The only major gameplay element not in multiplayer is DeathWalk - and that was removed because it was more fun to simply respawn quickly so you can exact revenge upon the chump who killed you.

The 3D Realms website has been updated with the first Prey Weekly Update, a development diary of sorts written by Chris Rhinehart of Human Head talking about the development of the game. The update starts with an overview of the history of the game at Human Head Studios, before Chris mentions that the game "is completely playable from start to finish", with the team now working on bug fixing and optimization. In other news the game's official website launched, offering a single new screenshot

The 3D Realms website has been updated with the news that 2K Games has contracted Even Balance to integrate Punkbuster into Prey, Human Head's highly anticipated sci-fi shooter. The anti-cheat software will be included out-of-the-box.

2K Games has released a new Prey teaser trailer, a direct-feed version of the video that appeared on G4 last week. The teaser trailer runs for about a minute offering a few quick glimpses of in-game footage. Prey is due out on PC and Xbox 360 next year.
