As promised, Codemasters has now released a demo for the PC version of Triumph Studios' Overlord II. The 972MB download can be found over on FileShack.

Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 demos of the dark-humored action-RTS were released last week, and can be found in each console's online marketplace. The full version arrives at North American retailers on June 23 and in European stores on June 26.

A demo for Overlord 2 can now be found on the Xbox Live Marketplace, allowing you to try out the third-person action-strategy game sequel from Triumph Studios.

But why should you? Publisher Codemasters has released this trailer showing the top ten reasons to be evil.

Demos for PlayStation 3 and PC will follow next week. The full game ships at the end of the month.

Historically, evil has not had the best public image. Overlord II seeks to remedy this through its newly-opened Minionstry of Information, starting with a friendly helpful video detailing the minions under your command in the action-adventure sequel.

Triumph Studio's action-strategy sequel Overlord II (PC, PS3, 360) is due out in Europe on June 26, publisher Codemasters announced today, with the game's "official US" page listing the North American release for a few days earlier, on June 23.

Triumph's action-strategy game hits PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this summer.

Truly, that spider is not of this world. And frankly, I am determined to rid Overlord II of such a foul, disgusting creature. If I end up dominating the world in the process, so be it. But ruling the world? Not as easy as you'd think. Creative director Lennart Sas explains:

Overlord 2 is due out this June on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Codemasters has released two new Overlord 2 (PC, PS3, X360) screenshots, showing two Roman Era environments. It was also announced today that Rhianna Pratchett has been retained as a scriptwriter for Overlord 2 and its Wii and DS companions, Overlord Dark Legend and Overlord Minions.

Pratchett, daughter of fantasy author Terry Pratchett, also served as writer and narrative designer for the original Overlord, and also penned scripts for games such as Mirror's Edge (PC, PS3, X360) and Heavenly Sword (PS3).

The fantasy action adventure game Overlord will be followed by a sequel next year, Codemasters and developer Triumph Studios anounced today.

In development for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Triumph promises "epic battles, all new Minion play mechanics, stunningly detailed new visuals and a fresh theme" for the game. The Overlord franchise is heading to new platforms as well. Also scheduled for a 2009 release are Overlord Dark Legend, an all-new action adventure game for the Wii featuring minion control through the Wii Remote and Overlord Minions, a puzzle action game for the Nintendo DS. Both these games will be developed by Climax Studios.
