NWN Expansion Announcement

Following last night's GameSpot interviews, the first Neverwinter Nights expansion has now officially been announced. Shadows of Undrentide is being developed by Bioware and Floodgate Entertainment and is due out spring 2003.

Neverwinter Nights Expansion Q&As

GameSpot has posted not one, but two Q&As about upcoming Neverwinter Nights expansion packs, the first time we've heard about them being in development. One is called The Shadows of Undrentide and the other is simply known as XP2. Shadows is being co-developed by FloodGate Entertainment, which employs several ex-Looking Glass people.

NWN Collectors Ed

Neverwinter Nights 1.25 Available

BioWare let us know that Neverwinter Nights patch 1.25 is now available. Not only does it have fixes for the game, but it also adds new content. You can read about all the changes here. A new Linux dedicated server is available as well.

BioWare sends word that a non-beta 1.23 patch for Neverwinter Nights has been released through the ingame auto-updater. Multiplayer code has been improved and SecureROM disk checking has been removed among other things. Update: A manual patch is out now as well. You can find it on FileShack as always.

Neverwinter Nights Patch

A new patch for Neverwinter Nights has been released, updating BioWare's RPG to 1.20. The only change is module corruption protection in the Toolset. You can download a 3mb upgrade from the previous version, or download a 33mb full file. Thanks Blues News. V1.20 is multiplayer compatible with 1.19.

Thanks to judge who let us know that BioWare has released a new patch for Neverwinter Nights through the auto-updater. The biggest fix is the ability for creatures to use their special spells, which was completely broken.

NWN Patch

As noted on the BioWare Neverwinter Nights support page, a patch for the game is available through the game launcher. It fixes the server filter crash, improves stability of clients and servers and fixes an issue where plot items are being dragged directly into an inventory bag among other things. Thanks CA_Flynn.

As noted in this press release, BioWare's Neverwinter Nights has shipped to retailers across North America. Many readers have already posted that they've picked up their copies, and people who mail ordered them should expect them to arrive in the next 24 hours. In anticipation, the game has been added to the ShackReviews database, although given the size and scope of the game it's probably a good idea to wait until you've played it for some time before writing a full review.
