New Allied Assault Map

Dec 23, 2001 9:21am CST tags: Medal of Honor
Allied-Assault.net is reporting that a new objective-based map will be released for the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault demo. It should be released tomorrow on Fileplanet, and according to the site "I do beleive it's a map in France where the objective of the allies is to destroy two 88s". Certainly good news, hopefully it will impress those who didn't like the current Stalingrad DM level much.

Click to enlargeThe game will be available in stores on January 22, 2002. Medal of Honor Allied Assault for the PC features over 30 levels of fully realized 3-D worlds in which the player must accomplish specific objectives and goals in order to succeed and advance.  Medal of Honor Allied Assault carries an ESRB rating of "T" for Teen and a MSRP of US$49.99.

Update: To clarify: this comes directly from EA's PR department, not some unreliable third party source. If EA says the game's gold, it is.

Medal of Honor Team Demo

Medal of Honor, The Day After

Dec 14, 2001 7:13am CST tags: Medal of Honor
So now that the Medal of Honor demo is out, what do you think? Please, just impressions and not any posts about where to download or "GAMESPY IS TEH DEVIL". They might well be, but that's not the point of the post. Good, bad, what should be improved?

Medal of Honor Demo

Dec 13, 2001 8:56pm CST tags: Medal of Honor, Demo
The Medal of Honor: Allied Assault multiplayer demo has been released. This is a 133.9mb download, and includes Gamespy Arcade as for some obscure reason the game does not have an ingame Internet game browser. The demo offers one level from the full game, Stalingrad, which can be played in a free for all mode.

Will have a new thread tomorrow for people to share impressions etc, since release threads are usually filled with "15K/S OMG!" and "I HATE THIS DOWNLOAD PAGE" etc.

Medal of Honor Demo Soon

Dec 12, 2001 5:45pm CST tags: Medal of Honor, Demo
EA's Steve Groll let us know that the 130mb multiplayer demo of 2015's Medal of Honor: Allied Assault will be out real soon (no specific date, but before the previously announced Friday date most likely). Here's what it will contain

The demo level will be a Free-for-All deathmatch in the war-torn cityscape of Stalingrad. This is a level where standing in the open will get you killed in a hurry. While not the wide-open landscape of Omaha Beach, this level has some intense building-to-building fighting. We had a 20-player deathmatch going here on Friday and it was insane.

There will be 6 character models available, 3 Allied and 3 Axis. You can play as Manon from Medal of Honor Underground, U.S. Airborne, and U.S. Regular Army on the Allied side. As part of the Axis force, you can play as an Afrika Corps Private, a Wehrmacht soldier, and a Panzer tank commander.

All of the weapons will be available in the demo including the Browning Automatic Rifle, Thompson sub machine gun, MP40, Panzerfaust and bazooka. There is also a mounted MG-42 that players can man, however, without a buddy; you ARE vulnerable to sniper fire.

We'll try and have a Fileshack mirror available as soon as we receive the demo. This'll be served from a different server so corruption should not happen.

Medal of Honor Preview

Dec 11, 2001 9:22pm CST tags: Medal of Honor
There's a new Medal of Honor preview on Gamespot, taking a look at 2015's upcoming World War 2 FPS. Of course they draw some comparisons between this game and RTCW, considering both are set in WW2 and have an Omaha Beach level. The preview goes over your objectives in this mission, the other levels, the amount of player models, the weapons and a brief description of what the single player game will bring.

Medal of Honor Preview

Dec 10, 2001 1:18pm CST tags: Medal of Honor
A PC.IGN preview of the multiplayer mode of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is now available free of charge, after being available only to IGN Insiders since Friday. The preview goes over the different maps (11 of them), the different game modes, the range of weapons and a few other things. New screenshots are included as well and IGN even mentions the game is actually done and just waiting on it's release on January 22. A multiplayer demo of the game should be out pretty soon
We do remember the four maps for the objective-based games. The one everyone knows is Omaha. After playing hours and hours and hours of the Wolfenstein counterpart (from the demo), we were really interested to see 2015's take on the experience. Overall, the Medal of Honor level is much larger both in terms of overall size and in terms of features. The craters in the beach are occasionally shelled -- a fact I discovered immediately after hoping into one to avoid the fire of German machine gun emplacements up in the bunkers. Bangalores are scattered about the beach for your breaching pleasure. But like in Wolfenstein getting to the top of the cliff is only a means to your true end, blowing up two massive guns. The charges must not only be placed but also defended from enemy disarmament.

Dec 03, 2001 4:23pm CST tags: Medal of Honor
Ben 'Bigd' Swarts gets the mad props for spotting the update on the EA Medal of Honor website with word on a shipping date as well as an upcoming playable demo of the game:

It's official. The full retail version of Medal of Honor Allied Assault is scheduled to ship on January 22, 2002. Until then, gamers can get a taste of the action by playing the single player demo, which is available on Computer Gaming World's February demo disc or by pre-ordering the full game at Electronics Boutique or GameStop stores.  For more information on the level featured in the demo, please click here.

Maarten contacted EA so we should have some higher res shots of that demo level soon. Here are a bunch of our other MOH:AA screenshots.
