EA Canada's upcoming Wii and PSP installment in the Medal of Honor series has gone gold, EA announced today. Medal of Honor Heroes 2 will ship to stores for both platforms November 13, a week later than anticipated.

Designed from the ground up for each platform, Heroes 2 features unprecedented 32-player multiplayer on both Wii and PSP. The Wii version has support for the Zapper peripheral, and includes a separate on-rails shooter mode to highlight this feature.

With Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for Wii, EA Canada's Team Fusion is looking to wipe the mediocre memories of Medal of Honor Vanguard and replace them with new ones bolstered by remarkably in-depth control configuration options, a 32-player online component, and a bonus arcade-style rail shooter mode. I played the game and chatted with associate producer Matt Tomporowski, and it looks like the team is on the right track.

Medal of Honor to be Heroic Online on Wii, PSP

Jul 17, 2007 2:28pm CST tags: Electronic Arts, Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Following up on last year's Medal of Honor Heroes for PSP, Electronic Arts has announced that it will be bringing Medal of Honor Heroes 2 to both Wii and PSP. During Nintendo's E3 press conference last week, the console manufacturer stated that a "new Medal of Honor game" would be optimized for the just-announced Wii Zapper gun peripheral. Today's announcement from EA confirms "full support of the Wii Zapper."

Both the Wii and PSP versions of the game will feature online multiplayer with support for up to 32 simultaneous players. In addition to the traditional single-player campaign of both versions, the Wii game will include an exclusive light gun-esque mode which turns the game into an old school on-rails shooter.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is being developed by EA Canada's Team Fusion, the group behind the original Heroes game. EA plans to ship the game this holiday.
