LostWinds Sequel Hits North America Monday

Frontier has announced that its puzzle-platformer sequel LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will arrive in North America as a WiiWare download next Monday, October 19.

The game, which hit Europe earlier this month, will sell for 1000 Wii Points ($10).

As with the first LostWinds, the side-scroller has players using Wii Remote gestures to jump further, defeat enemies and solve puzzles. This time, players can also "transform Mistralis between Summer and Winter" for additional puzzle solving prowess.

Having revealed a sequel to LostWinds mere hours after the launch of the WiiWare original in May 2008, developer Frontier today issued the first media and some details.

Dubbed "LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias," the wind-blowing platformer will let players "instantly transform Mistralis between Summer and Winter," which can help to uncover secrets or solve puzzles, such as an item hidden at the bottom of frozen lake.

No word yet as to when the download will arrive in the Wii Shop Channel or how much it'll cost, but we do have a trailer highlighting some of the new gameplay... Read more
